This is a good labeler that has a variety of characters and label styles.
It spits out some gibberish here and there (random symbols at the beginning of the tape), but it's a cheap labeler and it out performed my expectations.
The actual labeler is nice and works great, but not if you have to change SIX batteries every time you use it
So now I've thrown it away, as it's useless.
The labeler is easy to use but to access all of the features requires a little research/detective work
Works great, nice size, but I hate the keyboard lay out, should be "querty" but it's just the alphabet in order, I did not realize how slow that is.
I love the size of this, it's very easy to hold in one hand.
After that, it printed the wrong size, the wrong format with an incredible amount of wasted tape.
, it will leak battery power I and kill your batteries just take out one battery and leave it inside the cover next to the label cartridge when not in use and it solved the problem
I love all of the pretty borders and font size options.

Having written the cons, I would like to note that this is one of the most inexpensive ones that is still of a good quality
But it waste a lot an you have to actually trim to size!!
Inserting the tape cartridge (which came w/ the label maker) worked as it should & all the key board options we think worked as well
We use them in the kitchen for storage and lunch boxes, as well as in our play room
It's a fairly decent and capable little machine in a convenient form, that costs very little to buy and prints every bit as well as any other PTouch printer.
Great label printer - however it uses 6 AAA batteries and does not have a "hard" on/off switch, so most of the time the printer switches on accidentally during transport and when I want to use it, it is out of battery
I would prefer a printer which takes 4 AA batteries and does not switch on accidentally, or some printer which has a automatic shut-off

You're expected to buy the cheap printer, and fill it with expensive tape.
So this device still deserves at least 4 stars and I would recommend buying it because the price is good and it's not that
, I think I actually don't like this device at all.
the device, is portable, easy to read and the tapes, and a sample tape come with itthe programing of the content, is simple to set up
You do have to learn how to use it, it is not so much as intuitive device you might think, the cool about, its that besides the instructions in paper, the most relevant things are molded-print in the back of the unit, so you always have them handy.
Exactly the same as my plug in desktop model, with all of the features, but in a convenient, portable hand held device
We use them in the kitchen for storage and lunch boxes, as well as in our play room

I'm not sure what Brother designed here, but unless you want to remove the batteries, after every use, like I do, I don't recommend buying this crazy machine.
The printing itself is okay, but I wouldn't recommend buying this product
One font only, wastes space on both sides of any print, and an entire expensive printing cartridge is destroyed with one simple "ooh, what have you got
Really love i
After about 2 weeks of use however there is a creaking noise while printing and constant feed errors
Bottom line, even if it was capable of printing modern art, I'd still only use it print some labels here and there
Fine if that is what you want but much more time consuming to input for me.
If you leave batteries in it they will most likely be dead the next time you go to use it.
Every time I go to use it at work, the batteries are dead.
Since receiving the Brother Easy Handheld Label Maker (PTH100) I have been having a great time creating labels for Kitchen containers, pet food containers, notebooks, etc and I haven't started to use it for the original use I purchased it for
I've replaced the batteries on in many many times over the years and confirmed it was off after use and still, the batteries are dead the next time I go to use it
The batteries quickly go dead, even when the unit is turned off.
After receiving the "Brother approved" batteries and confirming with another needlessly long phone call that the label maker itself was the problem, they sent me a new label maker.
The MAJOR problem is that it eats batteries like CRAZY.
Even when off the batteries will drain complete dead after only a few days.
Every time I go to use it at work, the batteries are dead.
It does waste tape, about a half inch before and after the print, but they all seem to do.
The product ultimately does what it advertises, but not before wasting a full inch of label tape before and after the text
Really love i
Second, it wastes an inch of costly tape with each label, though this can be minimized if you are making several labels at the same time
