** UPDATE you can get this same printer with ink included for the SAME price at Best Buy and Target
I suspect that ink will be expensive, but the purchase price for all the capabilities and Canon quality makes it a good buy for me.
Easy to setupMediocre print qualityYou might as well buy ink cartridges with it, because the ones that come with it don’t last very long.
Consumer Reports calls this model a Best Buy, with a rating of "excellent" for both convenience and scan quality and an overall rating of "very good."In my home office I have the printer connected by a USB cable to my desktop computer, so I've avoided problems with Wi-Fi described by some reviewers
The printer works fine with a USB cable that you can find for $3 at Walmart (or $24 at Best Buy)
Luckily I got such a great deal on this awesome printer.
Paper jammed a lot causing it to break as I couldn’t get paper out
I know that it is frustrating dealing with technology and wireless/Bluetooth can sometimes be more trouble than you expect but following the instructions for me hooked up in minutes
(4 Stars because the price in comparison to how much printer your getting, is a GREAT deal
After dealing with customer service there for about 20 mins she told me its a hardware issue and i would have to pay for a new part.
At this price point it has to be the best value out there for what it does.
This is the best value printer ever made by any company
Paper jammed a lot causing it to break as I couldn’t get paper out
So, for the money, its a great value printer, just know if you are using Microsoft Windows, you are going to have to keep it plugged into the USB port if you want to print from your Windows PC
Very happy with this Canon printer and excellent value for money
This started out as a great little printer, but after 2 months it refuses to print double-sided, which is a very important feature to me
As soon as I loaded the printer software, i got a bunch of new icons on my screen, unwanted advertisements, offers, and a bunch of other unwanted features that seemed to bog down my computer
Paper jammed a lot causing it to break as I couldn’t get paper out
One of the most annoying features is that there is no control panel on the printer itself
Cordless printing is great, and I love the automatic double sided feature
Too bad, the printer has been great otherwise---nice crisp text and pictures, good color, decent ink usage.
Just awemoe and incredible build and price and in my favorite color thanks !
Color and black and white print very well and it connects to my laptop through WiFi.
Easy to set up and happy with it but the top is not red like the rest of it rather a burnt red color so that was a little disappointing
Prints slowly, but of adequate color quality, and decently in monochrome/black. THe bundled iOS app sucks, but at least allowed me to set up the wifi in the end.
works great now, not so easy to connect, took several tries
It also will just stop working or freeze in the middle of a job
it is the most frustrating printer he has ever worked with
This works great for helping manage small pronects at home
Even worse, your useless printer constantly sends notifications to your phone that the printer isn’t working (yeah, I noticed) and dismissing the notification doesn’t stop the endless loop of more notifications
Pros: does what it's supposed to, inexpensiveCons: loud startup and printing, bright light on top, pain to set up and print wirelessly, feels cheap, paper jams easily and pain to unjam
I can print to it from my laptop via wifi, from my cellphone (with Canon print app), as well as via the USB cable.
Paper jammed a lot causing it to break as I couldn’t get paper out
Works very well with both Android and Apple devices as well as with Windows laptops on the wifi
Fairly good on ink as well as giving me outstanding print quality, photo paper as plain paper.
Scanner inoperable as it requires a WIA driver that can't be found nor installed.
Scanner is a little slow, it takes about 25 seconds to scan a photo, but it's hassle free which is something that lacked with my previous low end printers.
Scanner works well but is not as easy to adjust settings as the older models, but that is a software issue and not the printer's fault.
The image quality of the printer is spot on, the scanner is amazing for the price, and the set up was a little strange
It'll print, but its scanner will quit working after a few weeks
Fairly good on ink as well as giving me outstanding print quality, photo paper as plain paper.
The sad thing is that the cartridges with paint are extremely expensive (almost the price of the printer or even higher) and after printing 20 pages, mostly B/W the printer is showing that cartridge needs to be replaced
PRI ts great, but some disconnect between the ink cartridge and printer
The only downside is expensive cartridges, but then all cartridges are expensive!
Another thing I don't like is how quickly it runs through ink, new cartridges for it are also very expensive, basically as much as the printer itself
It also jammed the first sheet pretty bad but then it worked fine after that
and it jerks around, makes a lot of noise and then sucks 12 sheets of paper through the feed ramp causing a jam
Summery: spend the extra $25 bucks and get something that won't annoy the sh*t out of you
I would say that it drops print jobs upwards of 70% of the time, which means wasted ink and sheets of half-printed pages and (if you're trying to handle a double-sided print job) sometimes even more if the remaining pages then get printed out of order
Other times it'll print a sheet then blow out 1-2 sometimes 3 blank sheets between the next printed one
If hitting "print" after loading paper for a basic print job is what you expect then you're clearly not adventurous enough for this fine piece of machinery.
I print anything I had to stand by the printer and slowly push the top piece of
Rather, as other reviews indicate, this printer is a cheaply made piece of garbage incapable of accomplishing even the most minor tasks and makes the printer from Office Space look like something belonging to Tony Stark
The problem started when the printer sucked up multiple blank pieces of paper and jammed.
Probably one of the worst pieces of technology I've ever owned:1
Maybe the plastic components easily misalign or break, but we cannot see anything obvious
Many reasons why I am giving this printer a 1 star:- its wireless component is a super difficult to set up.- its wireless component when set up, does not communicate with the computer properly- its wireless component when set up, and communicate well with the computer, prints the same page over and over againReally??
PRI ts great, but some disconnect between the ink cartridge and printer
The paper tray isn't completely enclosed, it hangs out the front; dust-o-phobes I guess could load paper only when they are ready to print
would have gave it 5 stars if it would have came with a usb cord, the wi-fi is hard to get connected but I never intended to use it anyway
Good i like
Good i like
It's not bad as a connected printer, but the wi-fi, easy set up features are completely misleading.
No printer is free of rough edges, whether they come in the form of paper jams, software glitches, clogged printheads, or flaky Wi-Fi."One of the complaints I've seen is that paper sheets slide off the top tray after going through the printer
However, like all my past printers, I wanted the hard-wire by USB the main laptop and have all the others run from wifi like all my past printers Epsons, Brothers etc.
BUT, you can only do 1 by hard-wire OR wifi and not both simultaneously.
Good i like
It works fine, but I would have expected a cable to hard wire it to one computer
