This little ATA is great, it works wonderfully connected to Asterisk as a SIP peer.

Only the instructions use terms that they assume any idiot understands, well I didn't, but got it working anyway.

Also the spa2102 handles well under high bandwidth usage whereas the Cisco spa122 will drop out if doing a heavy download and will do this even if a call isn't in session

As far as it being a network issue on my end it is not as I run a business internet account and the device was set on a static IP to itself which is the preferred way to set up a VoIP device

The only resolution to the issue was to buy Mediatrix devices like the Mediatrix 4102s which is a very good device and uses a Texas Instruments chipset which works very well and is extremely reliable and stable

The sound quality has also improved a lot (sounds like a normal landline)

So the product works fine after scrounging in my spare drawer for an adapter with the right output and plug on the end

The MWI will not work with other branded devices as the MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) from Cisco use a proprietary format for their MWI

Then when I configured the second telephone line the device crashed and would not let me in to the web-browser configuration however I set the DHCP vs static IP settings through the telephone-jack interface

Only issue I found was that you cant assign a static IP address with the netmask of your choice
