I thought I had a bad DVD burner until I bought these - flawless disks that dont seem to go bad with time.
For 16x DVD-R TY the media code of a genuine TY disk will be TYG03 and the batch code on the hub will be GHxxxxxx.
I highly recommend these disks over any rebranded (Maxell, TDK, Sony, etc.) disks which may be fine sometimes and unreliable other times -- a crap-shoot
Many other disk sellers (like Memorex and Sony) just relabel whatever they can get a good price on

The packing for shipment was insufficient as the case the dvd's were in was broken because there was not enough packing material to prevent movement in the carton they were shipped in.

Like all the other pro reviewers, I agree that this product is the best out there
When I back up my media, I would like to know if the product won't be ineffective in the burning process (i.e. making a bunch of coasters, and forcing me to spend even more $$ to get a decent backup copy.
This is my preferred brand and I will continue to order from this company.
Even though this brand is more expensive, I will probably stay with it and avoid the other more "common" brands simply because I prefer to have the best quality storage media possible when transfering any DVD I want to back up or certainly when copying my home movies to a DVD, and so far this is the better choice I have found.
The brand is not well known outside Japan, but they have about a 60% market share in Japan
The problem is that those famous brands change batches so one month you might get a great disc, then next month you might get junk

I have used big brand names in the past and have many dead results.
I also use Verbatim DL dvd blanks and get reasonably good results
You data is priceless, it cannot be replaced, do yourself a favor and try these discs (preferably in a modern burner from a reputable manufacturer) and hopefully you'll get the same great results that I did.
The results of my burns are beautiful for video, as well as audio.
With this DVD in get great results every time on the first try.

See dark streaky areas in the the bad media when holding it up to the light post-burn.
You cannot go wrong with anything Taiyo Yuden, the best of the best Japanese quality recordable media

These DVD are the best you can buy, at lest in my opinion.

Have used most of the container, only had one bad dvd that had to throw out.
