Reviews around price (5.00 of 5)

  • Many other disk sellers (like Memorex and Sony) just relabel whatever they can get a good price on
  • Very pleased with the quality of these DVD's at such a good price.
  • This is supposed to be an upscale brand and to get them at a good price I only buy on Amazon.
  • They used to be very expensive but now that blu-ray has taken the "pricey slot" in blank media, these are now a very reasonable price.
  • Great prices on bulk packages, low failure rate, and will continue to use for all my burning purposes.

Reviews around disk (5.00 of 5)

  • I thought I had a bad DVD burner until I bought these - flawless disks that dont seem to go bad with time.
  • For 16x DVD-R TY the media code of a genuine TY disk will be TYG03 and the batch code on the hub will be GHxxxxxx.
  • I highly recommend these disks over any rebranded (Maxell, TDK, Sony, etc.) disks which may be fine sometimes and unreliable other times -- a crap-shoot
  • Many other disk sellers (like Memorex and Sony) just relabel whatever they can get a good price on

Reviews around review (5.00 of 5)

  • I originally bought them because of the positive reviews for lack of issues while burning and playing
  • I bought the Taiyo because of the professional quality and great reviews
  • After reading all the wonderful reviews, I ordered these.
  • I won't know until it's too late, probably, but the reviews have been good on Amazon and on the other review websites

Reviews around pack (5.00 of 5)

  • Delivery was prompt and the package well packed
  • The packing for shipment was insufficient as the case the dvd's were in was broken because there was not enough packing material to prevent movement in the carton they were shipped in.

Reviews around touch (5.00 of 5)

  • wrap- nice touch
  • The plain silver surface is a nice touch, giving much more room for labeling, and just generally better-looking

Reviews around product (4.49 of 5)

  • Like all the other pro reviewers, I agree that this product is the best out there
  • When I back up my media, I would like to know if the product won't be ineffective in the burning process (i.e. making a bunch of coasters, and forcing me to spend even more $$ to get a decent backup copy.

Reviews around brand (4.33 of 5)

  • This is my preferred brand and I will continue to order from this company.
  • Even though this brand is more expensive, I will probably stay with it and avoid the other more "common" brands simply because I prefer to have the best quality storage media possible when transfering any DVD I want to back up or certainly when copying my home movies to a DVD, and so far this is the better choice I have found.
  • The brand is not well known outside Japan, but they have about a 60% market share in Japan
  • The problem is that those famous brands change batches so one month you might get a great disc, then next month you might get junk
  • Even though this brand is more expensive, I will probably stay with it and avoid the other more "common" brands simply because I prefer to have the best quality storage media possible when transfering any DVD I want to back up or certainly when copying my home movies to a DVD, and so far this is the better choice I have found.

Reviews around result (4.26 of 5)

  • I have used big brand names in the past and have many dead results.
  • I also use Verbatim DL dvd blanks and get reasonably good results
  • You data is priceless, it cannot be replaced, do yourself a favor and try these discs (preferably in a modern burner from a reputable manufacturer) and hopefully you'll get the same great results that I did.
  • The results of my burns are beautiful for video, as well as audio.
  • With this DVD in get great results every time on the first try.

Reviews around quality (4.16 of 5)

  • NEER THE SAME RESULTS IN THE DISC, BAD QUALITY IN PRODUCTION
  • You cannot go wrong with anything Taiyo Yuden, the best of the best Japanese quality recordable media
  • They seem to be of a better quality than some others I have purchased
  • Superb quality discs that are actually made by Taiyo Yuden, the premier manufacturer of blank DVD today
  • After buying over 600 discs, I'm not sure how many coasters I've had that didn't verify, but the quality is very variable, very unpredictable.

  • Perfect recordings using these DVD's, much better then other brands
  • The packing for shipment was insufficient as the case the dvd's were in was broken because there was not enough packing material to prevent movement in the carton they were shipped in.
  • These DVD are the best you can buy, at lest in my opinion.
  • I thought I had a bad DVD burner until I bought these - flawless disks that dont seem to go bad with time.
  • Have used most of the container, only had one bad dvd that had to throw out.

Reviews around dvds (3.44 of 5)

  • Haven't had a coaster yet, and even my notoriously-finicky Xbox can read the DVDs (burnt on a Superdrive-equipped Intel Mac).
  • These DVDs work great, but hard to tell burnable side from top (the top is very shiny and only slightly less blue.
  • This spindle will probably last me beyond the point when DVDs become completely obsolete.
  • The dvds play well on computers and dvd players at home, but skips every 30 seconds in the van
  • I burn movie DVDs to use in a mini-van when traveling with kids

Reviews around work (3.22 of 5)

  • but I bought these because I Burn alot of Music DVD's and although I have had some good ones (verbatim worked well
  • Every single one works in the van even burning at 8x
  • I burn a lot of dvd's, these dvd's work great
  • But again, as I said, these work great, and I still use them at times, as the printables are a little more money.

Reviews around video (3.22 of 5)

  • Always use the verify mode when you burn a video
  • I use these for my most important videos ie the family hi def ones that I want to keep forever.
  • It takes longer but saves headaches when you are in the middle of enjoying a great video and have to stop

Reviews around speed (1.41 of 5)

  • , these blanks actually tested better at 16x than at 12x or 8x, so if your duplicator is rated at least 16x, there’s no reason to run at slower speed.
  • I usually burn at a slower speed (8x), but even at full speed have never had anything but a superior burn, as tested with qpxtool under Linux
  • Make sure that your DVD writer can use the 16x speed--if not you're wasting money on the higher speed discs.
  • BTW, the better the burn in the first place, the longer the written disk will last, which is why I burn at a slower speed -- it reduces jitter.
