The boost function is a bit of a secret weapon of this pedal, is can be used as a “cutting through the mix” switch, but is actually used best with it on at around 12 o’clock and the treble knob being on zero, this will give you a very satisfying smooth distortion tone
dads at all the local dive bars and roadhouses always compliment my "tone" and my secret is i just use this pedal turned all the way up
Dialing way down gave a sweet Nearly clean David Gilmour "Breathe" tone
I'd personally look for a used Digitech DF-7, but it is inexpensive new, and works for over the top metal tones
Lots of sweet crunch and cool tones, with quite a bit of versatility
There is some funky setup with the mid's keep em about 10-2 and you can get a good sound.
Awesome cold sound
i use this pedal in my u2 cover band to get that perfect "the edge" sound
This pedal has a very aggressive but usable and tweakable sound, I primarily use it on my pedal board as a '4th channel' for my bugera 333 when I need just a tad more distortion than the 3rd lead channel on this amp
I think 'Extreme Stoner' would be a better name because it gets a good Fu Manchu or Electric Wizard sound but not much else
Maybe I'm confused as to what a boost is supposed to do, but it sounds pretty terrible if you turn it on
I got this pedal because I wanted a better metal tone than my Marshall AVT 275 could give me, and Joyo delivered
last night I turned ofd my pedal only to realize I still had quite a bit of fuzz, muffle, amd a slight bit of distortion still coming out of my amp... thought that I may have blown a
Pure Metal crunchy solid state brutality
This thing really sounds darn close to the Metal Muff, case is a sturdy metal, not plastic
I bought it because it had the dirty channel and a boost, should have gotten a dual channel overdrive pedal instead
This has a lot of gain and is comparable to the modern drive channel of my Mesa Boogie Rectoverb 50, however most people will say that this 'distortion pedal' is 'fizzy', 'makes too much noise' and 'it's unusable, especially the boost feature' well that's the problem
Clean super sweet boost or distortion, or distorion woth boost or boosted distortion
gt1200 head like others have said the boost is awful unless you turn the lows up all in all I like better than my ibanez sm7 smash box that was the same price
Clean super sweet boost or distortion, or distorion woth boost or boosted distortion

I love the boost feature for solos.

This pedal nails the metal distortion sound, offering the same effect as modern high-gain amps built to satisfy the thrasher inside you! JOYO audio's JF-17 Extreme Metal has a modern design with diverse features
Most pedals offer a single "Tone" knob
Instead the JF-17 offers three independent EQ controls, allowing you to achieve metal, rock and punk sounds. The gain from this pedal sounds like a buzz-saw at moments.
in others (mid gain) an overdriven tube amplifier that still retains definition (ala pride and joy) and when the mids are tweaked just right, you get the ska / soul / punk vibe that not too many distortion pedals are capable of! The pedals main forte is metal, obviously! But the pre and post gain stages offer variability that does not put this FX pedal in a single category
It easily achieves the edge you expect from a metal, high-gain distortion pedal, but also has a more delicate and brittle sound that can be dialed back (with mid, high and pre-gain tamed).Power chords absolutely growl (bass at 3 O'clock), offering serious low-end grit while extending harmonics and bite into the low mid and midrange frequency range (to your liking)! Furthermore, the true bypass wiring of the pedal means it stays clean with your other effects
Check this thing out on youtube and you’ll hear the difference between this and (even more expensive, less feature and gain intensive) metal stompboxes..
