They maintain an edge relatively well, though not as long as a pair of heavy Wiss scissors, when cutting thick sheets of very tough carbon fiber fabric, and the ease that they can be sharpened makes them invaluable as a go-to tool for cutting materials all day long

The light weight and comfortable grip also reduced hand fatigue for me, particularly on my thumb where the heavier scissors with metal grips would cause my thumb to go numb after prolonged use
