The I.Q. is SHARP edge to edge and the 1.8 is fantastic for low light
For portrait lens, you don't want sharp edges--sharp edges makes for sharp, busy bokeh
Simply put, this line is tack sharp edge to edge at 1.8

The vintage Minolta prime in my kit gives me a similarly luscious bokeh, but this thing features a shorter focal length and has autofocus as well - and to top that off it weighs next to nothing
It works as well as some of my Canon lenses that are several time more in price.

This is a perfect portrait length lens with gorgeous blur
It is so much fun to shoot portraits at 1.9 and to have that beautiful blur both in front and behind the subject.
Astonishing lens, with superb qualities and exceptional blur at close range at moderate stops

We've obtained some beautiful shots and although the images are not as sharp at 100% as my camera, I'm shooting equipment that is 10x the price!
It produces beautiful images and is well worth the money
This Zuiko will take your images to exquisite places no matter where you go.
Read the reviews, everyone loves this lens as it's fast and sharp.
It also works extremely well for video and doesn't make an awkward focusing sound like the 17mm 1.8.Only downside for me is that it's not image stabilized, which hurts on the G7

Focus is fast, though there is some hunting in low light or moving subjects

Super sharp across the frame, contrasty and fast focusing
It has fast auto focus, is small and light weight, good in low light
Though many old 35mm primes can give very good pictures, manual focus is tricky - even with the GX-7's excellent focus peaking

if you're looking for a portrait lens with good quality at a reasonable price in this format, this is a great choice.
Olympus always sells the hood as an option at an outrageous price.
I recommend that anyone who chooses to purchase this lens also purchase a lens hood-there are several reasonably priced options on Amazon-- and a 37 mm UV filter or any other filter(s
Worth twice the price and must have for every MFT camera owner.

Now this 45mm lens gives the equivalent focal length of a 90mm on a FX sensor and those lenses are more expensive.
This is one of the best camera lenses I have had and the speed at which it works is well beyond the abilities of the standard lens that comes with the camera
but I think these grey market prime lenses are worthy of a look.
You still have to know what you're doing to get the shot to look the way you want, just like with any gear, but this lens really does have an aesthetic that my cheaper lenses just don't offer
I live and work outside of the US so trying to purchase both a lens hood and a 37mm UV filter, I use them to protect all my lenses, is nee impossible
