I was under the impression that once this was mounted to the seat rail, with the X-Grip mounted to that, there would be almost no movement of the X-Grip once my phone was secured in It
The problem is that vibration from road is passed from the road to my cell phone at the end of the 18 inch mount causing my phone to vibrate like a tuning fork

I couldn't get a good clamp on the rod with the base until I figured out that I needed to line up the bottom of the rod with the bottom of the ribbing (a couple mm from the bottom) of the clamp
This perhaps says more about the lack of any tolerance in the Porsche than anything, but I would have like to know this before finding out the hard way.

The rod is extremely tightend at both the foot where it is bolted to the seat rail and the other end that connects to the socket where the ball on the back of the X-Grip attaches to so the play is in the rod itself
