Learning anything new is always a frustrating en-devour and this does a great job of making it fun and rewarding.

It does a great job of detecting what I'm playing and it has been a lot of fun learning guitar with this

meaning it tuned it self, and it did a good job tuning itself

That said this game does an AMAZING job of teaching songs

That all being said, I have to give even more credit to the absolutely phenomenal job they did on

This game is an awful teaching tool

To sum it up, Rocksmith 2014 is an excellent tool to get STARTED with guitar

It's like guitar hero but with a real guitar and the music selection isn't too

Rock band only allowed you to slow a song down in 4 or 5 speed settings, and this lets you control a slider from 1-100

I found that in my free time I was playing video games more than my guitars, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to combine the two and it was!This game is designed similar to Guitar Hero but if you’re familiar to playing guitar and reading tablature it will take some getting used to (I’ll talk tab in a second)

This game combines two of my favorite past times into one video games and playing guitar

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this game.

In my opinion, for most wannabe guitarists this is the number one thing that will hook you.

I'm not one of those people that can do things (like an amazing solo) then when ask how say "idk I can just do it"

Even though my HDMI already went from the PS4 to the receiver I had read that the optical cable would be better.

but when I finally went to use it, the cable was actually bad, and does not work

Great!The cable is top quality, and the game is awesome!

But beware, the cable included is a piece of junk and mine broke literally in a few days of use forcing me to order another one for the same price as the game itself

Had to replace my first order because the cable was a dud.

Sometimes I'll totally miss notes and it won't realize it.

Even my friends who have no guitar knowldge and may hit a total of five percent if the notes correctly love playing this part of the game and will retry and retry until they get the fabled six percent of notes correctly

and it's incredibly frustrating to be told I keep missing notes when I play these very same songs for crowds of hundreds

But a lot of the times, you can restart a song over and over again, knowing you're hitting the right notes, but only getting 1 every 7, approximately, right, and ending with a 74%, or even a 65%, and feel like smashing your guitar like a hyped rock guitarist after the final solo of the night's concert

The videos are quite helpful and show many different techniques and the little minigames that teach you various things like chords are immersive and effective

However, just know that this game has the potential to develop some bad habits that can make it difficult as you progress beyond Rocksmith.

This of course can develop bad habits later that can be difficult to overcome.

This is great for new players, but I found that this could develop bad habit with fingering positions.

It's not perfect and I think at times there is a slight delay or maybe I just refuse to admit when I'm missing a string

The delay between the sound and the guitar makes it almost impossible to make a decent sound

and you pluck one note at a time; playing a little early to compensate for this delay doesn't hurt me, but once you start playing more advanced modes with a strumming pattern and chords I can see this delay being a major problem

My problem was the delay... tried using optical audio on my PS4, was still too much delay for me to play along.
