I've had a number of clip-on style tuners over the years, and the Snark tuners have been the best of what I've used, though they aren't perfect

They tear through batteries, aren't bright enough to see on a sunny day on stage, and seem to lose their sensitivity over time, requiring a sharp finger snap to get them to wake up sometimes

The clip is stronger and holds on tighter to the instruments' peg heads, which makes for a better connection
