SonicStage's commendable features are diluted by its slow performance and tendency to crash or hang without warning(I'm talking Windows here.)

I just got my player yesterday, so I can not give a fair review, as I've not had the time to test everyting out yet, so please don't let the 3 stars scare you off.

After reading so many good reviews, I do not believe these 2 little guys are that bad

The number of remaining transfers in all cases is unlimited

The transfer worked perfectly

It did not complained when transferring

They play and transfer just fine with no limit on uploads

The auto level setting can be pretty choppy sounding because of the quick compression that occurs, so it's worth using the manual levels

I've found that 192kbps MP3 format gives me decent sound and allows me to dump around 12 hours of music to a single disc.

But, the biggest surprise of the item is simply how good mp3s sound.

The sound is good.

I will need to experiment with the recording level to find the best SN ratio, but playing the recording (analog) back through the amplifier or through a headset produced excellent, accurate sound.

I really love this player, actually, I just need time to let it earn its 5 stars, if it will.

Got it to replace one that was stolen, which brings me to my first point, if I had a hard drive player, and it got stolen, I would have had to replace all the songs I had previously transfered.

This is a good mini disc player

So far the player is very intuitive.

SonicStage 3.0 is a HUGE improvement over 2.x
