More about 10 Pack Effects Pedal DC Power Patch Cables Cords Pedalboard 5.5mm / 2.1mm 18AWG

  • Power cables for your effects pedals
  • We couldn't find any reasonable way to buy custom length dc power cables for your pedalboard so we got these made for us
  • The two significant things to know about them are that the pack has 5x 18" and 5x 24" and all the cables are made with 18AWG copper wire
  • They are one right angle (for your effect dc in) and one straight (for your brick dc out)...that is the way they all should be...all the time. They may appear like every other power cable that comes with your DC brick, but under the hood, there's enough thick conductor to assure no voltage loss even when you feeding current hungry Digital Reverbs, Optical Compressors or Delays
  • Other cables may look thicker, but only because of more layers of PVC or PE insulation
  • The industry standard is 22AWG (thinner than these)...have a look at the last photo showing these cables compared to three other ones that come packaged with power supplies
  • The thicker cable is especially important when you're using non-isolated power supplies that share the current across all the outputs
  • Overdrives and Distortion pedals typically only need 20-50ma to run, but reverbs, delays, vibes and optical circuits (tremolos, compressors etc) can need 100-200ma
  • If they don't get it they start to make weird ticking noises
  • You can always tell the thin cables because they "heat up" trying to pass high current.
