Wood hollow-core bedroom doors are like acoustic guitars, they are not sound proof at all, but these panels did the trick to create a quiet professional home office space.

Not the most attractive panels to put on the walls of an office, but just hanging up a few in strategic locations seemed to really dampen the echo and keep voices from being carried.

But the panels seemed to work while up on the walls.

For more intensive applications, or even something like monitoring (not band in room rehearsal), I'd recommend getting heavier panels, like 2-3"Don't be fooled, the packaging will look like there are much fewer panels, but they're really in there once you pull them apart!

We mounted the panels to 1/4" painted luan with spay adhesive and the boards warped

The foam material seems to be about the same quality as some other more expensive sound panels I've experienced

I have a fairly loud stand up air compressor, put some panels behind the motor and cylinders, knocked down some of the noise.
