  • The price was reasonable, and I now have slides in a digital format.
  • Works great, low price, no problems, pretty minimal controls.
  • A great price to get you started on your journey down memory lane!
  • Preserved some great family history at an affordable price
  • It's just right for my project--right price, right size, right capabilities.

Reviews around scan (4.21 of 5)

  • And I wish there were a focus adjustment, to improve the scan of slides which are warped.
  • A bit of an issue from time to time with old mounted slides as their cardboard gets warped and jams the auto-feeder, but the scans are fine
  • Scanning slides is the easiest task with the unit and you can develop a good scan rate with practice
  • That being said, I needed a really simple task accomplished - scan slides, save to memory card
  • I also fear that the slide tray will break as it didn't open easily and often got stuck while opening on the right edge.

Reviews around device (4.11 of 5)

  • It's a stunning and beautiful device
  • This device did not work for our MIL.
  • Great little device for transferring old 35 mm slides to digital images.
  • This is a wonderful device for those who have lots of slides/negatives they'd like to convert to digital images
  • Out of the box, this device works great and I would recommend it to anyone interested in capturing slide images.

Reviews around machine (4.05 of 5)

  • I have thousands of slides to do and this machine isn't capable of doing that
  • I would not recommend this machine to others.
  • This machine was dead on arrival.
  • The machine is easy to use and the resolution of the digital photos came out great
  • I also fear that the slide tray will break as it didn't open easily and often got stuck while opening on the right edge.

Reviews around job (4.03 of 5)

  • For example, the "capture" option allows you to select from B&W negatives, color slides or color negatives (in that order), but the options are not labeled and the icons are not intuitive
  • This scanner performed extremely well and made an awful job easy.
  • I have 6 thousand slides to digitize and this will make the job much faster and easier
  • It does no have a tray to handle the smaller cartridge film for compact cameras and that is the only item I wish was provided, but it did a good job on the 35 mm film strips and b&w color slides.
  • Of course this can be corrected with other software, but for the critical job of converting the data this is an invaluable and relatively inexpensive tool.

Reviews around result (3.81 of 5)

  • After scanning only a few sides with frustrating results I packed this back up and shipped it back for refund.
  • Probably wouldn't make a professional photographer happy but for the 1,000 or slides taken by my father-in -law more than 50 years ago the results are quite good, like I said better than I expected
  • The Kodak does cost more, $130, but the results with the Digitnow scanner aren't worth your time scanning the slides .
  • It's cheap and renders poor quality results
  • If you care about picture quality skip this unit and get one that delivers better results.

Reviews around way (3.75 of 5)

  • I also fear that the slide tray will break as it didn't open easily and often got stuck while opening on the right edge.
  • It is the best way I've found to convert old slides from my parents into digital pictures without having to pay someone else to do it
  • Otherwise, things will be backwards, including any thing with a sign (my wife found this out the hard way), but it was easy to correct, and she's been using this to make memory books for each of our 7 grand children.
  • Takes some practice but once mastered it is the fastest and most cost effective way to convert slides
  • I had a difficult time figuring out how to switch the mode from b/w, slide print and negative.

Reviews around scanner (3.56 of 5)

  • It is okay for what it is, an inexpensive negative scanner.
  • I received this negative scanner from my sister as a gift
  • this scanner is a good value works well and is easy to use.
  • The scanner was easy to use and I am very happy with the quality of the pictures.
  • I bought a more expensive negative scanner that worked perfect.

Reviews around advertise (3.53 of 5)

  • It won't make a bad picture any better but it works as advertised and is well worth the cost.
  • So far it does not work as advertised.
  • Before returning the scanner, I purchased a new SD card, and the scanner worked as advertised.
  • Did not work with windows 10 as advertised.
  • I will describe it as a rather expensive piece of flimsy plastic that doesn't work as advertised

Reviews around feeder (3.53 of 5)

  • Only problem was due to warped slides jamming feeder
  • Slides stick in rapid slide feeder, but that should be expected due to the age of the slides
  • If you want to scan a few dozen slides, this is sufficient, but for any volume, the feeder is inconsistent and frequently jams.
  • The rapid slide feeder is getting stuck and is hard to use.
  • A bit of an issue from time to time with old mounted slides as their cardboard gets warped and jams the auto-feeder, but the scans are fine

Reviews around picture (3.41 of 5)

  • This unit captured them digitally so, not only do I get to see them, I can share them with my entire extended family so they can remember “ the good ‘ol days”It’s VERY easy to use and, while it may not be the best quality picture, the slides are not the best either
  • It won't make a bad picture any better but it works as advertised and is well worth the cost.
  • This film scanner cost me pennies and the pictures are like new.
  • The slides are old and generally poor quality (bad pictures) but have personal value
  • It will allow me to recover many pictures that have been destroyed

Reviews around slide (2.76 of 5)

  • coppied 35mm slides to scandisk. works good but a pain in the neck feeding one slide at a time
  • Would of gave 5 stars but the slide mechanism that you use to scan the slides would get jammed from time to time.
  • The rapid slide feeded did not work well for me but may have been because some of the slides were over 50 years old.
  • Slides stick in rapid slide feeder, but that should be expected due to the age of the slides
  • One issue with the slides- it will not record a square slide, but is limited to the rectangular slide format

Reviews around quality (2.76 of 5)

  • The 3 slide tray is of poor quality and is not easy to open
  • The scanned images from this device were fuzzy and generally of poor quality
  • Obviously scan quality is only as good as the quality of the slide.
  • Picture quality is only as good as the original quality
  • Once you get a slide in position and copy it the quality is surprisingly good

Reviews around consume (1.95 of 5)

  • Sharpness in the pictures may need more than 10 M for resolution but great to see old slides in digital
  • This is cheap cheap cheap and time consuming
  • I found it necessary to put one slide in one of the four windows of a slide holder and then insert it and scan it: do that over and over: obviously very cumbersome and time-consuming

Reviews around drive (1.44 of 5)

  • We converted a large cache of family photos stored in boxes to digital so they could be stored on a computer and backed up onto an external hard drive available for viewing & use
  • But once copied into my hard drive I can now
  • Then you swap the card to your PS to store the images on a Hard Drive
  • The usb connector works as a power source and a pathway for your computer to see the SD card, but doesn’t allow you to save the image directly to your computer hard drive

Reviews around card error (1.38 of 5)

  • Every so often I'll get an SD card error message, but I just take it out and put it back in again.
  • Instruction could be a little more clear as to the names of the buttons.
  • I wanted to scan a bunch of family slides from the 1980s that are in really good shape - I went through all of the them with a projector as well as with a slide viewer
  • I kept getting a card error when trying to use a new 64 gig as card
  • First I tried using SD cards from my digital cameras and the scanner rejected them with the message: "card error."

Reviews around strip (1.00 of 5)

  • The thing you need to remember is, make sure your film negatives strips are aligned in the guide, and that you have them properly aligned.
  • After scanning hundreds of negative strips I took a utility knife and cut off the end "teeth" that snapped the strip holder shut
  • This machine will read negative strips but not slides --- what can I do ….?
  • With film negatives, it often happens when the last sprocket in the negative strip is cut through (due to the nature of the film), the last digitized image is blurred in the last third of the image adjacent to that sprocket.
