The only thing that I didn't like is that it is not very directional and picks up a lot of ambient noise at the same time it makes your voice sound more clear

The mic is omnidirectional (vs. cardiod or shotgun), so it is likely to pick up some level of ambient noise in your recording location in additional to your subject's voice, but it's never more than any decent noise reduction function in a video editor can't remove easily.

I would give this item a 5 stars, however the extension cord does not work.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is into vlogging, or does any type of work with audio and video recordings

There is very little background noise and my voice is crisp and clear

The only issue is that if anything touches any part of the adapter or the jacks, there is a rather annoying buzz in the audio that I can't fix in editing

so i'm not a novice - and used this mic on a shoot today and there is a loud buzzing in the background
