The clear coat finish is very durable, and the two together are a great solution.
-
Rich, clear finish when I was all through with the steps.
-
It is more work but the end result is a near perfect finish
-
So when I was finished, that portion was clear but the rest of light now looks a bit hazy.
-
Head lights were yellow at start, when finished were Crystal clear
-
will do fineI did the polishing twice too to give it a nice smooth shiny finish and again, it turned out sooooooo good!!
-
Works great, just follow directions and remember to tape off the area around lights with paint tape and rinse car off when finished, looks like new and really makes a difference
-
Oh, use light pressure while sanding and finishing and take your time for a great finish.
-
Make sure you use Meguiar's G17804 Keep Clear Headlight spray to help protect the finish, you would see big results
-

It doesn't give that clean finished look.
-
Flawless finished product
-
I also bought the 3M UV protectant wipe for treatment afterwards - a definite must to give it a consistent, shiny finish and protection after polishing
-
Ended up giving up on the idea as i could not get the proper finish described in the instructions provided, with the quantity of sanding discs provided
-
After it was finished, looks like a brand new lens.
-
Used clear coat from a different conpany for a cleaner finish.
-
After I cleaned the headlights (sand and buffed per other 3M headlight kit, I used this to protect the finish.
-
3M's kit comes with a lens UV and oxidation protection solution which you apply at the end of the process where the Macguire comes with PLASTIX which is a version of rubbing compound intended for plastic which gives you a cleaner finish than the 3M as PLASTIX is the equivalent of a ultra fine sandpaper thus giving a clearer lens look but without the oxidation protection.
-
After i was finished, i didn't get the clarity i wanted, so i went over it with rubbing compound a few more times.
-
If you want a clearer finish you will need a few finer sanding pads then what is provided in the kit
-
In this "ultra" product, you then wipe a clear coat pad which spreads a clear finish over the lenses which effectively hides any remaining scratches and is supposed to protect the lens.
-
The haze were gone but couldnt get a clear finish
-
Other:- BUY clear coat to finish
-
Basically you will work your way up increased grit sizes until you have a super smooth finish
-
To get a really perfect finish a couple more of each grit would do the trick
-
I had Zona sanding paper left over that I used to go up to a much finer finish
-
The headlight became pitted over the last 13 years, which resulted in a massively dull finish
-
The sandpaper and combined compound and protectant offer an excellent professional finish when all is said and done
-
The rotary and foam pad gives it a nice finished look.
-
They contain a much needed layer of uv protection and will give you the perfect finishing touch.
-
and I still didn’t get that nice, clear finish
-
This process involved several steps but when I was finished, the headlights looked like new!
-
It does do the job but after you’re finished pretty much all of the parts are broken or worn out
-
The Maguire is truly a better finish but fails to provide last protection from UV and oxidation
-
I clean and polish a wide range of objects as I am an antique restorer, so I am familiar with the processes and time involved with polishing to a perfect finish
-
After you've finished removing the damage with this kit, I recommend Sylvania's UV sealant to keep the headlights looking great and prevent future UV damage to the plastic lenses
-
The finish the 3M kit leaves is very nice and clear
-
I recommend skipping this product altogether due to the scratchy finish.
-
My lenses were not horrible but I had to scrape by to get a good finish
-
Like-new clear finish.
-
Masking tape may be needed to protect painted finishes.
-
and they just didn't create a lasting clear finish.
-
Buff twice for a better finish.

The Maguire is truly a better finish but fails to provide last protection from UV and oxidation
-
Had to sand it down twice to get the shiny clear finish
-
An excellent product, very easy to use and gives a good finish
-
headlights absolutely look like brand new the plastic finish is back to factory quality very much worth the money
-
If you have never polished, buffed or sanded plastic or metal using a power tool then I strongly recommend not only using the instructions exactly as shown or practicing on a different piece of plastic.
