    • But not near enough sand
    • - they give you enough sanding heads to do several cars, but only 2 packets of the sealer.
    • First, they dont really give you enough sanding disks to do medium to large size headlights.
    • I did not rush the job and used a powered drill as opposed to a rechargeable because the RPMs for the rechargeable did not meet the instructions requirements of about 1200 to 1500 RPMs for effective sanding
    • They made the entire process extremely obvious and gave good advice like frequently wiping the coarse sanding pads to prevent clogging, keeping all the fine sanding wet at all times with a spray bottle, and how to not splatter the polishing cream by smearing it around before cranking up the drill
    • I’m glad that I knew what to expect in advance, because it was a little frightening sanding the covers
    • Also have enough sanding pads and buffing compound left over for another vehicle
    • Some tips:-use a corded drill, or a good cordless with at least 3 batteries.-mask the surrounding areas well with at least 3 layers in areas that may contact the sanding disc or place a strip of Gorilla Tape over the masking tape to protect the paint from being sanded accidentally.-if your lenses are badly hazed, sand with 220-400 grit before using the kit, or you’ll waste a lot of time and sanding discs.-if you dry-sand, wear a respirator or at least a mask to protect your lungs from polycarbonate dust.-I recommend wet-sanding
    • WHen rinsed and dry the lens will have a frosted appearance but only very fine sanding marks should remain
    • Not enough sanding disks to do the job
    • Recommend wet sanding throughout the entire process
    • Spend a good 2 hours sanding the lights then put
    • I think the sanding was a lack of skill on my part, I recommend the clear coat to shine it up, but also make the headlight stay clear.
    • I sprayed water constantly as that makes the process easier and the sanding is smoother.
    • It look me about an hour of prep/sand/clean total
    • I thought I had sanded plenty but still had a few imperfections I could have worked out if I had the patience.
    • I would recommend wet sanding on all of the sanding steps.
    • Be sure to completely finish sanding at each step, and keep the sanding pads clean by brushing them off every minute or so for best results.
    • Just follow the steps don't be Afraid to give it a good sanding...and don't be scared to buff them with the compound a few times
    • I like to use water to clean/lubricate all the sanding
    • The sanding is unnerving at first, but as you progress it becomes obvious why it takes so long
    • Try this Before an expensive sanding kits that takes an hour or more
    • clarity! The kit didn’t have enough sanding discs to do all four lenses on my truck but the bottom two aren’t bad at all
    • There is only enough sanding disks to do a single headlight
    • Much better now and have enough sanding discs and compound for another set of lenses
    • Taped, sanded, polished, and cleaned took 90 minutes for both sides: I started by taping both sides, and then used progressive sanding, starting with two of the coarse 500, then onto 800, etc., doing left side and then right before moving onto the next coarseness
    • I think I used fewer because I had tried polishing compounds before this, but I was happy there were enough sanding disks
    • a third fine grade sand paper (super fine).Product made a good improvement, but I would say it's not worthy for 27$.You will get only one final super fine sand paper and is more of a buffing tool
    • a third fine grade sand paper (super fine).Product made a good improvement, but I would say it's not worthy for 27$.You will get only one final super fine sand paper and is more of a buffing tool
    • Follow the instructions exactly how it states (some people use water on the gold and white sand paper I did not)
    • I did most of the initial (coarse) sanding by hand - and you need to brush dust from the headlight and the paper every 10 seconds or so
    • I took my time and sanded well with the drill as that makes all the differenece.
    • Followed the directions using all the sanding pads and wow.
    • The kit has more than enough sanding disks for two headlight lenses and the instructions are very clear
    • I still have enough sanding pads and product to restore the headlights on my husband’s car
    • The bottles of restorer and sealer will work for more than one headlight, depending on how you use it, but this kit was only enough sanding pads to do one headlight for me
    • The kit had enough sanding disks to do the job.
    • I tried sanding in both low and high speed on my drill, low worked much better.
    • They give you more than enough sanding pads and buffing solution
    • Would recommend sanding for at least 20 minutes per headlight on each grit (3), so takes about 2 hours total, but works really well
    • The sanding is unnerving at first, but as you progress it becomes obvious why it takes so long
    • I would highly recommend watching the 3M instruction video for proper sanding tips.
    • Reviews here and on the packaging state that I was to receive six gold 500 grit sanding disc's ( I only received three), four white 800 grit sanding disc's (I only received two) and a one ounce packet of rubbing compound (I received none)
    • There's enough sanding paper in the pack to easily do 2 headlights
    • Don't be shy with the sanding discs - the more you sand, the better
    • The directions are correct when it say more sanding on this step will make the next step easier and the overall outcome will be better
    • The more sanding you do the better the results.
    • Ample sanding discs and polish included
    • Keeping it still enough to get a good even sanding etc, but after a while I got the hang of it
    • The key of the package are follow the instructions and perform a good sanding.
    • Use the coarse sand disc until the dust is white
    • If you don't, the sanding WILL scratch your car
    • Wet sanding will make the pads last much longer and the job much faster
    • It is a series of finer and finer sanding discs, until you are polishing the lense for the final time
    • Also, recommend wet sanding all stages, not just the polisher as instructed with this kit.
    • There was more than enough sanding discs and you can always touch up the surface with more polishing compound or toothpaste for that matter.
    • but I had better luck sanding by hand, other than that I would recommend this product to anyone looking to restore their headlights to new conditions.
    • Unless your headlights are huge you should have enough sanding pads and compound to do them a couple of times over
    • Moving through the second phase make sure to pay attention to the frost pattern and wipe the dust off to assure it’s evenly sanded
    • After I cleaned the headlights (sand and buffed per other 3M headlight kit, I used this to protect the finish.
    • I trust the progressive sanding pads (1000 3000 5000 grit) to do a better job than the power tool version of this kit.
    • If you want a clearer finish you will need a few finer sanding pads then what is provided in the kit
    • Although the first two steps (sanding with the 800 & 500 grit) doesn't require you to use water (third step does require water), I would recommend wet sanding all steps
    • They made the entire process extremely obvious and gave good advice like frequently wiping the coarse sanding pads to prevent clogging, keeping all the fine sanding wet at all times with a spray bottle, and how to not splatter the polishing cream by smearing it around before cranking up the drill
    • case you feel like it needs extra sanding
    • The only problem is there are not enough sanding disks to do more than 2 vehicles if the headlights are really bad.
    • I think manual sanding is better and easier to manage especially tight corners
    • It came with enough sanding discs and rubbing compound to do the job two more times
    • it came with enough sanding disks and supplies, and directions were clear (no pun intended).
    • I still give this product 4 stars, because it's the same awesome 3M sanding stuff as you get in the cheaper kit that I've used in the past, minus the rubbing compound and foam applicator.
    • Tip: you don't want to overdue the sanding, but apply enough pressure with the low grit sandpapers.
    • No matter how much I continued to sand and go though the steps again, I could not get out all of the scratches on the lens that the roughest sand paper had created
    • I am disappointed with this product and some cheap sand paper and water can produce better results.
    • The first sanding is the most important and makes the process go easier as long as that sanding is completed properly and a smooth consistent haze is on the entire headlight.
    • I was left with a lazy eye looking car for not having enough sanding discs.
    • Headlight Restoration kit a few years ago, but it never really got that clean despite destroying my fingers sanding and the lights fogged over again.
    • I had previously used a different kit that involved manual wet sanding and the results were not that great (probably because I didn't spend enough time sanding.)
    • not enough sanding pads included, they get clogged up about every 15 seconds of use even if you wipe them clean every 15 seconds ( says in instructions to wipe them to prolong life) they still become useless after some minutes of sanding.
    • The only issue for me was that the kit didn’t include enough sanding discs
    • On top of this, you can use the most refined sanding sheets for other polishing work
    • Some tips:-use a corded drill, or a good cordless with at least 3 batteries.-mask the surrounding areas well with at least 3 layers in areas that may contact the sanding disc or place a strip of Gorilla Tape over the masking tape to protect the paint from being sanded accidentally.-if your lenses are badly hazed, sand with 220-400 grit before using the kit, or you’ll waste a lot of time and sanding discs.-if you dry-sand, wear a respirator or at least a mask to protect your lungs from polycarbonate dust.-I recommend wet-sanding
    • I also have enough sand paper to do another set of headlights.
    • only sent enough sanding pads for one headlight
    • Easy to use I have used other headlight restore kits in the past this one here is by far the best one on the market gives you enough sanding discs to do at least four
    • if you use right, the more you do the higher grit sanding disk like the first 2 steps the less work in the last to steps
    • Worked good I felt there wasn't enough sanding discs to get it perfect for both lights
    • It was going well till I was doing the final sand, and the green 3000 grit disk disintegrated.
    • They give you like 10 sanding pads so as soon as you open the thing up
    • This is a resurfacing kit so you will be fine sanding a layer off the plastic and then buffing and polishing it back out to a clear shine
    • The wet sanding does get a little messy so make sure to have extra cloths around to wipe off your car.
    • I was more comfortable on the second lens, as I had the experience of the first and spent more time on the rougher sanding.
    • If you are not familiar with this process I would recommend using additional tape to protect against mistakes while sanding
    • Biggest grip was not enough sand paper to complete each stage of sanding.
    • Flow the directions, do a good sanding
    • Took me about 2 hours of careful, patient sanding and following the instructions
    • I wet sanded with each grit after dry sanding to smooth out each sanding.
    • You do want to take your time, don't get in a rush, and go thru each sanding level very well to get he best results.
    • If you take your time, your headlights will be a s good as new.
    • Although it can’t be perfect, it’s obviously improved a
    • Works as it says it does, just follow the instructions and watching the how to video listed on the package was very helpful
    • As it stands my headlights are as clear as if they were new, and I'm a happy customer.
    • It was stressful but worked as they said it would and came out great
    • Restored a 2001 F-250 headlights pretty well
    • Worked as it said
    • and I would recommend this to anybody as it was pretty easy and took about an hour to complete.
    • Worked exactly as it said it would.
    • I am very pleased with the instructions and materials, I'd recommend this kit as it's economical and works well
    • Very awesome stuff works great on light scratches as well A+
    • Very awesome stuff works great on light scratches as well A+
    • This item worked as it should
    • That also works well as long as that is the case; i.e. light scratching.
    • Works as long as you put the effort in.
    • I expected it to make the headlights last another 2-3 years before fading and already it looks just as bad as before
