I'm happy with the wide selection of specimens and the safe plastic

The slide itself is clear plastic.

In and of itself, there is nothing wrong with that - the plastic is crystal clear and is relatively distortion free.

However, if the plastic is badly scratched or scored, as it was on the VERY first slide I looked at, it's not a good start.

After Amazon packaging, you have to tear off a 'cellophane' wrapping, then you have to take all four small boxes containing slides out of another clear plastic box

Caution is advised as you may bleed.
