This lock is the easiest way to secure the heck out of your wheels in Cities that love to be crafty with their bike racks.
It does look cool, and I like the way it attaches to my water-bottle braze-ons, but other than that it is quite heavy and expensive compared to a good old-fashioned mini u-lock.
Still, it's way more compatible with challenging geometry than a U-lock

All ABUS product ARE good quality and well made product
Weight is, of course, an inescapable reality of any lock that provides much security, and this isn't especially heavy for a good quality lock - my Kryptonite Evolution
would be that both old and current designs are much more flexible than any standard u bolt and more secure than most any cable.
I would feel confident in using this over those stupid clumsy U-locks which are so frigging huge and heavy (this is 4.4 lbs
It has the great quality I have found in all Abus products
On a plus side, it seems like a really well-built product.
Maybe not quite as secure as high U locks but certainly a lot more practical with the carrying case that can ether be strapped on or bolted directly to the frame where the bottle cage goes
The Abus Bordo 6500 aka Granit X-Plus is a less common style lock, designed to be nearly as strong as U-Locks but without the limitations

The bendy links are all covered in rubber, but the free end is bare metal (obviously) - and it has hard, sharp edges
Once the joints loosen up, it's reasonably easy to put it round the relevant bits of the bike, but when you try to push the free end into the lock housing, often it won't go
Having had two bikes stolen in the past, I did not want a similar outcome for my expensive E bike.
Often the free end will come out of the lock housing and fold back rapidly, taking chunks out of your paintwork
Their top-end deterrents are also quite heavy and significant, but attempting to replace a multi-thousand dollar bicycle that's been stolen after being locked with a kryptonite is so difficult, the guarantee might as well be non-existent.

Great lock I feel very secure using itI wish it was a bit

This was a very enjoyable lock to use, but that thief knows where I live and clearly had no issues with the last lock
This is a plus with regards to seasoned thieves who might specialize in defeating Kryptonites, but are confused by Abus.--When folded up, the lock is quite compact compared to U-locks
Having had two bikes stolen in the past, I did not want a similar outcome for my expensive E bike.
I love the folding design it makes traveling with it so much easier compared to a U-lock

U Locks are the standard when it comes to serious bicycle security, and for good reason: the chunky rigid metal design is substantially more difficult to defeat than more flexible cables
