and this thermometer read consistently 2-4 degrees cooler than anything else

Perhaps I received a defective unit, but this thermometer is useless.

The thermometer even had dirt on it.

the Thermometer is a lemon, doesnt work- and guess what

After a few uses, the entire thermometer broke and wouldn't go back together.

I have since upgraded to fancier thermometers, but would go back to this the thermometer once in awhile since it's there, and is still working 10 years later, which is really impressive!

Well I have two thermometers

I bought mine in October 2020 to replace a failing Exergen thermometer because throughout last year I had to measure my daughter's temperature every morning before school and fill out an online form

The strip attached to activate them were already broke off and the thermometers when you pressed the button it would not turn

I would say it gives pretty accurate reading, comparable to the more expensive brand name infrared thermometers.
