Pads are not very sensitive however you can do the good old electrical tape hack that works on most Akai pads

The pads feel nice, very portable and works every time the only problem is that the knobs dont work in reason.

I read that the Korg nanopad has more responsive pads, but that the quality isn't very good and the pads tend to stick or stop working after a short period of use, so I decided to step it up and replace the lpd8 with the Korg padKontrol.

I bought this item for $80 and the week later the price was $39… Needless to say I returned it because for some reason it started messing with my Bluetooth settings on my iMac and my mouse and keyboard would lose connection for some reason I am going to get the MPD 218 instead

This device works well, but there are no instructions to help you program the pads and the software that comes with it is not intuitive

after just sitting around for a while i used it and tried to plug my usb in and the usb literally broke off, whole device is unusable now

CONS:*-USB port soldering points broke leaving the device without a place to a computer, creating a problem actually using the device ever again...(without cracking the thing open and fixing it
