  • Pads are not very sensitive however you can do the good old electrical tape hack that works on most Akai pads
  • The pads feel nice, very portable and works every time the only problem is that the knobs dont work in reason.
  • the Akai pro LPD8 controller worked perfect with reasons, and fruity loops, but it works best with ablerton live.
  • Amazing works great as described, I use this with reason 5 works wonders
  • This works perfect with fruit loops 11 ill give it 10 stars I had this for two months

Reviews around akai (5.00 of 5)

  • This is the best controller Akai makes incl;uding the high end stuff.
  • Akai (in my experience) has been helpful (for the most part)
  • For someone just getting into music production, I must applaud Akai for making such a user-friendly midi device
  • the Akai pro LPD8 controller worked perfect with reasons, and fruity loops, but it works best with ablerton live.

Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • Great Quality for me just starting up this was perfect.
  • I'll be sure to tell all my musician colleagues about the spectacular quality of the Akai's standards.
  • Great quality and responsiveness, even responsive using Bluetooth
  • I read that the Korg nanopad has more responsive pads, but that the quality isn't very good and the pads tend to stick or stop working after a short period of use, so I decided to step it up and replace the lpd8 with the Korg padKontrol.
  • the cdelivery was on time and overall it is a good quality item for the money.

Reviews around use (5.00 of 5)

  • After 1 year of good use, the LPD8 lasted much longer than I thought it would
  • Great quality and responsiveness, even responsive using Bluetooth
  • Need for better manual to be able to make better use of product.
  • The pads themselves and knobs are extremely useful and can be used for anything in a program like Ableton live 8.

Reviews around thing (4.49 of 5)

  • I did the tape mod that can be found on youtube and this thing was well worth the money
  • I spend more time fighting with the damn thing than it would take for me to just pencil it all in by hand, while having superior control, dynamics, timing, and groove
  • This pad has been the best thing I've ever purchased in my LIFE!!
  • This thing is great for any program basically, you can map it to Ableton as well, and basically have a small drum pad on the go
  • If you're just looking for something to plunk down beat ideas with your laptop on the go, this thing is perfect

Reviews around price (4.40 of 5)

  • I have no problems with it at all, and recommend to anyone looking for a pad controller at a good price.
  • The price of repairing something like that is not worth
  • This MIDI controller was just what I needed for a great price.
  • I bought this item for $80 and the week later the price was $39… Needless to say I returned it because for some reason it started messing with my Bluetooth settings on my iMac and my mouse and keyboard would lose connection for some reason I am going to get the MPD 218 instead

Reviews around knob (4.31 of 5)

  • Very easy to use, VERY nice response on the pads, and the knobs feel awesome.
  • On the other hand, the product feels sturdy and well made, and the knobs feel pretty good.
  • The knobs feel just good, I found more pleasent these ones over the ones that comes with the novation launchkey
  • The remaining knobs had inconsistent resistance, but basically worked
  • The knobs are awesome as well, and I have not had them in my setup before... great for recording automation ("Latch" mode in Logic)

Reviews around device (3.50 of 5)

  • This device works well, but there are no instructions to help you program the pads and the software that comes with it is not intuitive
  • The pads themselves are as solid as devices several times more expensive.
  • after just sitting around for a while i used it and tried to plug my usb in and the usb literally broke off, whole device is unusable now
  • CONS:*-USB port soldering points broke leaving the device without a place to a computer, creating a problem actually using the device ever again...(without cracking the thing open and fixing it
  • For something you can throw into a laptop back for that studio on the go, this is a sweet little device.

Reviews around install (3.22 of 5)

  • Works great, easy install, no problems.
  • you have to buy the Fruity Loops program for this for some reason mine dosn't have any preset beats installed and the fruity loops program is expensive
  • Flexible, responsive, easily installed.

Reviews around usb port (1.00 of 5)

  • The USB port was slightly loose when it arrived, and now after only a few uses it has broken off the controller board and fallen back inside the case
  • However, the usb port that plugs into the device is flimsy and held only by weak solder joints
  • They only attached the mini-usb port to the circuit board with solder and it ripped the circuit
