It's worth looking at before buying the MPC Renaissance!

Oherwise a great product so far, even though i probly shouldve started off with something less expensive.

Love this thing but it keeps me up all night long.

This thing is much more powerful but it bites back like a wolf and doesn't have room form many mistakes

Also had a problem with package contents, Amazon also corrected the problem with no hassle at all.

After trying to remedy the problems with tech suport to no avail the item was returned

Great Sound bank and even better editing tools for outside samples, keys, etc.

I enjoy the sound bank, and the updates

You chop your samples efficient and play them in via the velocity sensitive pads

Now I have virtually unlimited sample time, my samples are easier to edit and chop, and I don't have any sample cutting out during complex programs.

But the software compliments the device well and you can't operate the device without it.

The construction is very sturdy, I love the feel of the pads.

Down side is because it does so much over 8 gigs of RAM is needed and Windows running in "best performance" mode with services running in the background.

There is a step mode as well, but only needed when trying to change a note.

The inputs are ample and instrument recognition is great, however I can't understand why they didn't include USB 3 inputs???.

I'd like to note this is after the 1.7 software upgrade, a fresh Windows 7 install, and fresh drivers; same results

My teenaged son loves it, had a great software package, and we upgraded to ver 1.7I also took advantage of the free MPC headphone offer from AKAI http://www.akaipro.com/files/rebates/Akai_MPCRenaissance_MPCHeadphones_Rebate_20147.pdf

The mpc would freeze and give out distorted sounds

Anyways, I love the MPC so far, and I wanted to wait a little before I wrote this review, but as I was going through the tutorials I was so impressed that I decided to write this review now.

The MPC makes chopping samples extra easy and the pads feel great and extremely responsive
