The Alesis DM6 USB Kit brings the best of Alesis’ 20 years of experience in professional electronic-percussion gear to the aspiring musician in need of a versatile drum set. The DM6 module features an internal collection with 108 quality drum, cymbal...
Otherwise, the only problem I've had is one of my cats keeps running off with the drum sticks (or as he calls them, 'chew toys').In comparison to the Roland and Yamaha kits, it's a great value for the money and will fit the basic needs of many drummers just fine.
I came away with the understanding that the DM6 is the best value out there, but that Alesis was still working out some bugs
The crash and ride cymbals could stand a little more stable, but all-in-all, it is great value for the price.
This drum set is the best value out there in my opinion
Let me start by saying that if this kit functioned perfectly, then it would have been a fantastic value for the money
Overall, the quality feels great -- its solid construction for the price
I was tossing around the idea of getting my first kit for over 6 months, reading reviews and trying to find a kit that if I hated playing I wouldn't be bummed about spending so much and if I loved playing I wouldn't be bummed about the low quality
These drums are amazing, easy to learn on, great sound and quality! !
All the wires and frame seems to be pretty good quality
The kick pedal & beater is very good quality at a great price.
Really worried I was going to get a dud, as the price seemed to good for the reviews, but this was a great purchase
Yes, the price is really good, but as expected the actual build quality isn't
I was tossing around the idea of getting my first kit for over 6 months, reading reviews and trying to find a kit that if I hated playing I wouldn't be bummed about spending so much and if I loved playing I wouldn't be bummed about the low quality
This kit, although on the cheap price side, is very good quality and takes a beating.
It was difficult to resist the Alesis DM6 with it's attractive price and good
Lots of fun and a good practice alternative to a real drum set
I was tossing around the idea of getting my first kit for over 6 months, reading reviews and trying to find a kit that if I hated playing I wouldn't be bummed about spending so much and if I loved playing I wouldn't be bummed about the low quality
Programability, sounds, and interface are all good for a cheap practice set
He is in marching band and is practicing complex drum patterns
I just needed a practice kit that wouldn't break the bank
I find the internal sounds on the DM6 module to be pretty terrible.
I miss that great Gretsch sound and feel but these are helping me find my chops again
All the pads are force sensitive and produce louder sounds as they get hit with greater force
These drums have a nice sound and even a good set of play-along songs for learning
I can understand if you have an acoustic set and you have a single electronic pad for weird sounds like that, but to have your entire set consist of it is idiotic
This would have been a good product if it had lasted longer than a year
It was an amazing product while it lasted, now I simply have dissapointment and anger to replace that
AND THE ALESIS WAS THE BEST MONEY/BENEFIT PRODUCT I COULD FIND
OVERALL THIS PRODUCT IS VERY GOOD, FOR AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
However by producing such a faulty product and not giving any warnings, Alesis has caused me 3 months of unnecessary waiting, extra cash spent, and tremendous frustration over this drum kit
This is a great drum set with plenty of built in setting.
It's a good set worth the money, but has a few fallacies
Other these limitations.....this is an excellent set of drums.
This is a terrible drum set and you should NOT waste your money purchasing this product
Some more "good"I have had musicians comment that this set sounds more "natural" especially the snare sound, than other much more expensive electronic drum sets
the pads are either too sensitive or not sensitive at all
We then told them the kick pad wasn't the problem, and they have ignored us
Updates to the module can be done from your computer after downloading them from Alesis; you will need a USB cable to do that (not included, but a standard easily found cable). The pads have a strange 'sticky' feel to
Although they are hard pads, they use a softer rubber head that reduces wrist- and arm-fatigue
They said they thought it was a faulty kick pad, so we sent in the kick pad and waited months and months until they sent us a new kick pad
Some more "good"I have had musicians comment that this set sounds more "natural" especially the snare sound, than other much more expensive electronic drum sets
so every one dont buy this drum set its a waste of $700 and it has more flaws then benefits
Songs to follow along with are good but not really any specifically for beginners, which is why I purchase this drum set as opposed to a $1,000 one because of the fact that I'm not that knowledgable with the drums
This is a terrible drum set and you should NOT waste your money purchasing this product
I would highly recommend these drums for the young beginner.....or someone uncertain of the entire digital drum concept and wants to try out a budget set first
It is made out of very cheap plastic and the set is just very bendable, one false move and the whole thing just falls
This is a solid kit, aluminum (or some other light, strong metal) rack with thick, solid plastic joiners
Completely unsatisfied by the flimsy plastic drum rack (frame) it comes with, which fell apart eventually and could not handle the vibration of being played
He enjoys it as it's great for him to
I was tossing around the idea of getting my first kit for over 6 months, reading reviews and trying to find a kit that if I hated playing I wouldn't be bummed about spending so much and if I loved playing I wouldn't be bummed about the low quality
I am not experiencing any hit hat symbol problems like others are, so maybe the new ones were shipped with the firmware upgrade
You have to hit them harder than expected to ensure the hit will register, or risk occasionally getting no hit at all
All of a sudden the quality really came out; ghost notes, striking sensitivity and no missed hits
- The snare drum is actually super sensitive, so sometimes when you hit the hi hat (and as said - you can't hit it gently), the snare records a false hit for no
High-hat is iffy; have to stomp foot pad to get any sound- ride response is sporadic; does not register gentle hits, and easily goes to "bell" with slightly too hard of hit- cymbal feel is not very realisticWorks out of the box, but tinkering improves it dramaticallyNeed an amplified source, but can put into anything you have, home stereo, whateverBass drum pad too bouncy and require more control than a real drumRim shot triggers with any hit to the frame (I turned it off, its lame anyway)If you KNOW you are going to make a commitment to
I've wanted to play drums for a long time, but knew the noise would be an issue
I've started looking around for some more durable e-cymbals
are great for keeping the noise to a minimum while jamming out
The Simmons kit makes no noise when you strike the cymbals
Long story short, 3 months after purchase I was told by Alesis that this static noise is present on every drum kit, as they tested a few in house and noticed the same thing
