The fire tv pendant and remote worked great for 2months but had a funny glitch that turned it on in the middle of the night in the empty room with the tv it resided in turned off

We have enjoyed our Amazon Fire TV, BUT the batteries died on the remote AND we are unable to OPEN the back to replace the batteries, even after viewing numerous YouTube videos on how to do so.
