Alienware' s new 25-inch Gaming Monitor packs premium gaming performance features into a captivating display. Featuring iconic Alienware design, custom AlienFX lighting, 240Hz refresh rate with 1ms response time, and NVIDIA G-SYNC technology with Ult...
The monitor is a pretty good deal at the $430 I purchased it for compared to the other 240HZ G-Sync compatible monitors which are usually upwards of $500.I would however not recommend paying the full asking price for this monitor because of a couple of quirks which I will outline below
I think the design is sexy and sleek and if i had a picture of it on my desk i would post it to this review... its just a sexy monitor for sure
Alienware gets a lot of hate out there for various reasons, but I dont think anyone can really dispute the fact that Alienware makes beautifully designed cases and other products.
Good cable management and a unique design really set this monitor apart from the standard gaming monitors available today
The Alienware 25 is a beautifully designed monitor that gets almost everything right
Games run smooth, picture quality (after a few tweaks) looks really nice, base is heavy and solid, the Acer one I had shook the screen whenever I would move the table or mouse
4 out of 4 have great picture quality and appear to be defect free.
Such a pity, given that the overall build quality seems so fine
You're paying for a solid quality monitor with a very heavy duty stand and unparalleled gaming performance
Hands down the 4K 60hz has better image quality but the 1080p 240hz has less input lag and screen tearing
I was very impressed at the difference in the smooth picture, compared to our old monitors, especially

The picture is good for a TN panel monitor with ok color deviation from off angle views
I set custom color profile and left R and G channels at 100 and drained blue to 50, still eye strain
AMD is really struggling to come up with a competitive graphics card.

This will run anything you throw at it linked up to a good graphics card of course
Fast paced games like Overwatch or Counterstrike:GO can easily run at over 200fps with a modern graphics card at 1080p, and this monitor looks amazingly smooth and has a great response time
I tried every combination of graphical settings known to man, as well as different graphics cards and different computers, just to make sure it was a monitor issue and not on the computer end.

so I was really hoping they would make an Alienware version of the S2417DG, but I guess that technology is a bit out of reach for a reasonable price right now
In general it is a great monitor for 144-240Hz gaming at a decent price.

The alienware (yes, I know, manf. by Dell) while being a lower resolution that what was in store definitely looked much nicer in terms of color reproduction and overall clarity
The colors looked good, and 240 Hz is awesome... but my 240 Hz experience was ruined by little 10 frame stutters at high FPS that would happen about once per second

My new monitor seems to be working well and has great resolution and vibrant colors.
I support the claim by saying I'm not a pro gamer sorry

I just find that the intrusiveness of the stand causes me to be battling with the monitor a large portion of time during competitive games.
Fortnite isn't the greatest game to showcase this monitor, and the video doesn't do justice either
Combined with a 1070ti, every game I've tried on it has been exceptionally smooth and responsive, unbelievably so in fact
I set custom color profile and left R and G channels at 100 and drained blue to 50, still eye strain
anyway, this monitor has the hallmarks of a great product that will not be dated within 4 years

, some packages may be mishandled, some packages might just be DoA or have dead pixels by just factory defect
That said, the packaging by Dell is superb, and while the outer shipping box was roughed up, the monitor box was pristine, and couldn't have been supported better

The monitor is well packaged, very easy to set up, and has been working flawlessly for months.

Remember, it is an option... and thus can only be a positive thing since the worst scenario is you simply disable it, or leave it at "0" in this case, if you don't like it
I love this thing

Both panels I had suffered from this, with the replacement being considerably worse and also suffering from a bit of back-light bleed on the bottom edge
The back panel that removes to access cable storage is bit tricky to get back on and that would really be my only negative
Thin bezels+ Solid base/doesnt shake the panel easily with table/mouse movements.+ Dell monitors are usually
This one is pretty solid and doesnt shake the entire panel.+
What this means is that looking at solid white, grey, and black images reveal that the panel is not really consistent in it's lighting
I tried all the response time settings in the menu, all give eye strain
I set custom color profile and left R and G channels at 100 and drained blue to 50, still eye strain

I could feel the eye strain coming on within 30 minutes, and after 3-4 hour use, my eyes feel destroyed and it grows into a headache
I thought maybe too much blue light, so I used the "eye comfort" color profile that makes the screen yellowish and removed a lot of the blue light, still eye strain
