To be honest, my "perfect" gaming monitor would be a 4K or similar curved OLED panel, with HDR and G-sync, and a reasonable size for my desk (55" Alienware is too big).

Comparing the two, the LG 34GN850 is definitely better in most ways, minus build quality and G-SYNC (worth noting that the LG is G-SYNC compatible via software, and I noticed no issues with it)

Overall I am happy with the AW3420DW for the significantly better build quality, as well as having a dedicated G-SYNC module for the more graphically intensive games I play where frame rate can fluctuate more.

I've played previously only at 4K for about 8 months, and when I went back to 1080p I was astounded as to how much better my computer handled it.

The only negatives I haveWith some brief google searching, it appears to be a known issue among AW users with the AW software to adjust lighting via the desktop application
