This is my first ice cream maker that doesn't require the use of rock salt, so, again, some skepticism, but after the initial 24 hour wait for the bowl to freeze and a few hours for the base to get cold, it took only 20 minutes for it to churn to a not-so-soft serve consistency (it was a lot firmer than I anticipated!)
It had been freezing perfectly in the machine and was close to reaching perfect consistency if the machine hadn't stopped on its own

This was the least expensive ice-cream maker on Amazon, so I wasn't expecting much
For the price this is a totally fine ice cream maker and we have enjoyed trying all the recipes (chocolate is great, mango sorbet freezes hard as a rock) but it seems to be too much ice cream when following the amounts in the recipe

So then I had to poor out contents, clean out freezer bowl using hot water
After I scraped the ice cream out from the freezer bowl, I quickly washed it out with hot water, then I popped it back in the freezer
n’t think I’ll bother with this again
The freezer bowl has a liquid in it (presumably water) and must be frozen until you shake it and hear no sloshing liquid - about 24 hours.
This unit is nicely styled, easy to operate, and easy to clean
However, there are a few caveats:-Provided that your freezer bowl and ice cream mix have been well-chilled, the machine will churn out soft serve-style ice cream in 20-30 minutes

You need to freeze the includes bucket bowl for 24 hours and the mixture of sugar, heavy cream, whole milk, etc needs to be refrigerated for a day
Just freeze the inside bowl for 24 hours and you are ready to make 1.5qt of ice cream, sorbet, or any other frozen treat!
