, this makes them pretty close together & so if you have any slightly larger power bricks you are plugging in, you might be forced to use every 2nd outlet & reduce the number of effective outlets you get
I had enough outlets available for my needs, but I did have to alternate some of them & my power bricks are not that big (like the one I need for my Amazon Fire TV etc....)The handbook that comes with it is OK, not
It is simple to set up, the power management system was a snap to download and install, and there are more than enough power outlets for my needs
Further, the outlets are not far enough apart to accommodate the large outlet transformers on typical things like routers, modems, etc
Power cord & plug: right angle plug with the prongs rotated to allow easy access to the 2nd outlet = good
: one row provides surge protection and battery backup, the other 4 outlets provide ONLY surge protection.
One way to increase the number of surge protected devices is to employ a power strip that has no built in surge protection
As can be observed, the unit has four UPS outlets and four surge protection outlets
That is more than enough for most outages which last for only seconds, and I now have improved surge protection for the non UPS components
The purpose of acquiring this UPS was twofold; battery based UPS for timely PC shutdown as well as surge protection for the other components in the home entertainment console

One to be mounted on a wall to protect my 16-port network switch and POE power injector, the 2nd to protect a computer & monitor
This AmazonBasics UPS worked just fine for keeping my desk top computer, monitor, modem and speakers on line during several power outages within the first 3 weeks after I installed it.
Also connects via USB to computer so a monitoring of system performance is available

This AmazonBasics UPS worked just fine for keeping my desk top computer, monitor, modem and speakers on line during several power outages within the first 3 weeks after I installed it.
All I wanted was a battery backup for my work's desktop computer so that when the power went out for a few seconds, I wouldn't lose all my work

This unit is adequate for the home entertainment center application, or a simple home office with a single PC and monitor to allow the time necessary for an orderly shutdown
Without the software, there is no power down option, which means unless you are at the computer when an outage occurs, you still get an uncontrolled shutdown as if you had no protection.
At this load it will last about an hour which is more than enough to do a graceful shutdown of the sever and network equipment.
The purpose of acquiring this UPS was twofold; battery based UPS for timely PC shutdown as well as surge protection for the other components in the home entertainment console
That gives me plenty of time for an orderly shutdown of the HTPC, and to turn off the TV

Only time will tell how good it will work, and I will update if I have any issues from here on out.
We had a multi hour long brownout today, during which the UPS did perform flawlessly, for the duration of it's capacity, keeping my application alive for a nice long time
so I don't loose internet every time this happens, the cable modem is a pain in the neck, takes up to five minutes to reboot and everything comes through it, internet, tv and phone, so I think it was a smart decision
Backup time exceeds the quoted time.

Since that time, I bought an APC model UPS from Amazon as a replacement, and so far it has worked flawlessly, and I might add, operates quieter than the defective AmazonBasics unit.
I wish I can give them a better higher rating, best and convenient UPS unit for small office PC
I am actually pretty sad to say this, the unit had so much promise for me
A basic compact unit with easy set-up and no bells and whistles
The limited warranty is much shorter than what some other more expensive units offer
However, after the full line voltage came back and the battery was depleted & had shut the unit off, it did not restart
I did not test the actual charge time from a depleted battery, but the manual and sticker claim 8hrs needed for full charge
I bought this particular model due to the number of outlets and the replaceable battery.
This may be the case if the battery gets completely drained, but I just tested it briefly after receiving it and it switched back to mains after power was restored, judging by the warning beeps stopping
This unit does NOT automatically restart after a power outage which drains the battery.
