I contacted Amcrest and look forward to the day they offer a 4k with optical zoom although this is not an option right now at any reasonable size or price.
It's not easy to find a good reasonably priced hi-res waterproof cam, and I'm very pleased with this one

The case is very substantial and the build quality is excellent
Good quality camera ,strong aluminum body easy to install
I connect them to my Blue Iris DVR software and they are always up with great picture quality
The quality of the optics seems good, but the firmware needs violent improvements... so I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable having it as a security camera
I love the picture quality when set to 4k, but the app resets the camera back to 1080 for no apparent reason on a regular basis
