I cleaned the strings and the bow of rosin and tried it again.. better but that little wispy white noise in my ears really drove me insane
The bow tracks along the strings more smoothly and it gives my cheap bow an almost "buttery" quality
I ordered this and before it arrived I cleaned my bow of all rosin, first with some violin cleaner then soap and water so that it was as soundless as a new bow.
So I took it to the luthier when I had to fix something else on the violin and asked him to help me clean the bow
And I decided when I cleaned the bow, I would upgrade the rosin
Seems to have improved the sound of my daughters violin.
It produces a good sound and you know immediately when you're needing rosin
We were so frustrated with the scratchy sound we were getting when playing
And as I said - I love the sound that it makes my violin produce.
Even with my fairly low skill level of only being okay at the basics, and having a low-quality, grainy sounding, raspy brazilwood bow, paired with a beginner level violin, I could hear a difference
