I ordered this and before it arrived I cleaned my bow of all rosin, first with some violin cleaner then soap and water so that it was as soundless as a new bow.

The feel when bowing was amazing, I can now get a better sound while playing at pianissimo or softer, and it feels smoother and more effortless

I cleaned the strings and the bow of rosin and tried it again.. better but that little wispy white noise in my ears really drove me insane

So I took it to the luthier when I had to fix something else on the violin and asked him to help me clean the bow

The bow tracks along the strings more smoothly and it gives my cheap bow an almost "buttery" quality

Excellent tone, allows smooth bow strokes and made most articulations easy

And I decided when I cleaned the bow, I would upgrade the rosin
