Great design, but not a good option for large files since transfer speeds are so bad.
Anker's hub mimics the top notch design quality of Mac and the color matches space gray perfectly.

The replacement unit had the same issue, so I provided this additional information to Anker support
Anker support is also very easy to work with and is very helpful
After troubleshooting to the best of my ability (updating graphics and USB drivers, testing on multiple computers, etc.), I reached out to Anker support
Anker support manually checked the next batch to ensure it would work and then shipped out another replacement
Anker support was able to replace the defective unit for another

The HDMI drops out periodically and only works if I unplug and replug in the whole adapter, and the micro-sd/SD ports as I found out today don’t work whatsoever
One excellent feature of this hub is it appears to support HDMI 2.0 which means as long as your monitor supports that you can do 4k60p whereas many hubs only support 4k30p.
Did not even check if HDMI and other slots are working

I did a lot of research on MacBook Pro dongles after finding out that after my large purchase would require a lot of adapters to work with all my current accessories

Unfortunately the new unit has all the same symptoms of the old one although I do really appreciate their customer service as they are the ones who reached out to me to try and make this right.
I can attest that their service is great and if anything breaks I can rest easier knowing that their customer service will help without hassle

While of course it would have been great not to have had an issue in the first place, I can't think of many, if any, companies that rival Anker when it comes to follow-up support & troubleshooting
The original hub was returned & replaced, and Anker were exceptionally attentive at each step of the way
Thank you to the Anker support team who have most certainly kept a loyal customer
I still love anker overall as a company but this product I can’t honestly recommend
Even though it seems like Anker is the only brand I trust besides the original brands to pair with my expensive tech, they have never let me down.

The pass-through power to my laptop is only 49 W (not 60 W as it would appear from reading the product description) because 11 W must be siphoned off to bus power the connected devices - again a limitation of the technology.
So far quality is good, and all ports work
