Other companies are certainly improving, but when it's critical I always go with APC.
The price that you pay for this unit is small compared to the cost for equipment damage or recovering lost data.
:I received a defective BR1500MS unit from Amazon in May 2018, but I didn't want to return the product because I got it for a great price on
It is just what I wanted for a great price on Prime Day.
Just not worth the price, comparable models and better models priced at half the huge 300+ dollar price tag this unit boasts, even on sale like it is which is absolutely
Power outage at the house (Storm), lost connectivity (router, etc.)...the "U" in UPS is false with this thing
Frequent Florida lightning strikes require the best Surge Protector available, and this unit has a great battery backup if local power should be lost!
Very good battery backup, if your running something that is not too power hungry, it will run it for over an hour
It has provided enough backup so that I have never needed a shutdown.
This information is nowhere in the documentation, on Amazon's web page, not even in the APC web page (unless you drill down several levels). So, instead of a smart power backup, one has to use this unit as an overpriced dumb battery set
Mine does it but it does not bother me as much as it bothers some of the reviewers.
They don' t require much power, like the Bridgeport mill and Republic Turnmaster lathe they serve
Worked as advertised if you want to get a real hour of use from your whole system buy the add on battery
You would hope that Amazon would have newer inventory of these units, or that Amazon wouldnt knowingly carry defective units, but clearly from the reviews on Amazon, it's still hit or miss as to whether or not you will order an APC BR1500MS (or BR1000MS, etc) and get one that doesn't chirp
They always have a life which far exceeds the shelf life advertised for the product.
Had to turn off the "smart" power feature, but it's been solid
Love the new feature that disables the alarm when power goes off.
but it's annoying as much for having to press the button as it is for losing a feature that the old one did well and wouldn't have have been hard to do for this one too.
A nice feature is the digital display which shows you some operating parameters as well as a count of power interruption events.
It provides proprietary features that just aren't going to be provided by your OS natively

The battery will still bleed even if it outside the APC but not as fast as when it is inserted in the usable position

mine works great looks great but smells like cat urine...strongly....have had it out in a open room for several days its still as strong as ever...wonder if its battery acid?but smell aside this is a great value
Other companies are certainly improving, but when it's critical I always go with APC.
It has an nice display which shows the power draw, estimate running time, and actual time left.
I was expecting the display to be a gimmick, but it does provide some helpful information about the current load, remaining time on battery (based current load), etc
Great display for information showing how much power is being used and more juice than most APCs.
The UPS has an LED display letting you know how much current is going through your system
Is was shipped in a reasonable amount of time and works great.
Furthermore, CyberPower has made myself and friends PAY to ship defective units back to them in the past, while APC handles warranty returns and exchanges for free (which is critical for shipping a heavy UPS that equates to expensive shipping)
I easily re-packed my defective APC UPS in the box that came with my new unit, then I slapped the free return-shipping label on the box and brought it to a FedEx drop-off location
Batteries in the units seem to last about 1 year and a half in my experience and replacement batteries are easily ordered via Amazon.the free prime shipping alone on these is worth the prime subscription cost, although my UPS driver may not agree.
Works very well, shipped quickly, and exactly as described.
UPS itself works great, however APC has serious quality control issues.
EXCELLENT APC BACK-UPS PRO 8 OUTLET POWER SUPPLY - WORKS GREAT!
Like all APC products I have used works great and very reliable.
I returned the "defective" APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 and got a new replacement.

The next two units fail it's automatic self tests, goes into a fast chirp warning, and needs to be manually tested (HOLD power button for 6 seconds) to clear the error, this happens every 14-40 days
Exhibiting the same annoying chirping sound every few seconds that others have mentioned.
My inverter just doesn't have enough power by itself or clean a/c
I experience the "chirp" that the other folks that left reviews are also experiencing (included video)I purchased 2 units 1500VA and one 1000VA both experience the wonderful chirp that is a little annoying when they are together.very dissatisfied with both of these products as i've owned other APC units that run completely silent until under commercial power loss.*added to
As others have indicated, this unit has a rather atrocious constant high-pitched whine that periodically (once every few seconds or so) ramps up into a louder "chirp"
Despite what the seller says in the questions section the high-pitched whine is NOT fixed
As others have indicated, this unit has a rather atrocious constant high-pitched whine that periodically (once every few seconds or so) ramps up into a louder "chirp"
As for the high pitched whine that some reviewers complained about - I noticed it
They don' t require much power, like the Bridgeport mill and Republic Turnmaster lathe they serve
As many people have stated, there's a high-pitched whine from the unit
The unit also makes a whiny/buzzing sound whenever the screen is on, but that goes away when the screen turns off.
To test the system, I disconnected the power, and the battery lasted for over 2 hours of use with the TV on vivid display and the sound at a fun level for watching movies with a friend
Thankfully, the annoying beeping sound can be muted on the front panel
If you wake the display on the APC it makes an even more annoying buzzing sound.
Also of note, the unit does make a rather loud buzzing sound when it fails over to battery.
You can even turn the screen to stay on, and the power loss sound off
Also, if power is lost, the software that was included will shut the computer down before the unit runs out of juice, ensuring that my machine doesn't try to keep going after a power loss
That means the expected standby time during a complete power loss is around one hour, even while using the computer.

I've seen occasional unexplained power loss to my desktop, intermittent buzzing or clicking from the APC unit, and several false alarms where the unit believes it has no power even though it does
