so I ordered this and found out it's nothing more than a glorified power strip with surge protection.

Be sure to note which of the plugs are surge protection only

Haven't had a power outage yet to test that feature however do love that there are 3 dedicated outlets for battery back up and 2 for just the surge protection.

It'll trip the surge protection and go into battery mode, forcing you to reset

I think the surge protection is still working, but the battery backup function is not working.

Its the right size for the load, duration and size for what I need

Would probably be a good size for small NAS, modem and router as well

I have had two power outages since starting to buy these (started with 5 and I add one every month) and they worked as I expected them to.

They provide no sensors or computer connectivity, they will not shut your devices down when power fails, nor will they report battery data to NUT, but they are a decent value for what they are.

LED status light shows more than unit on and unit on UPS.C.

The led status light is pretty bright but a little tape takes care of that.

Plugged in my computer and monitor to the surge/battery outlets and an LED light to a surge only outlet.

I even power the living room light with it, and as that light is LED like all others in my apartment, it burns very little power but providing the same light intensity

The red light would stay lit solid saying there is a ground fault

I'm sure it works as the manual describes, but I came the conclusion I'm never going to mess with it

It's the nature of all UPS devices that after a few years, the battery fails

When power fails, the UPS will run this load for 22 minutes.

Excellent UPS for small items like a router, cable modem (or both).

The second unit had no issues with the yellow battery connector

The unit has deep screw holes that I don't have tools to open to check it out, so that stinks

These devices have small loads so this unit is good for this type of use.

Normally APC UPS units work well but this unit has two design faults which earned it two strikes/stars off
