The display on the front is nice and clear and the statistics you can get over USB are more than sufficient to satisfy any geek
The display on this is very useful, you can scroll through to see percentage left, load, voltage in and out, etc
The display is nice since you can easily tell what your load is and how much time you can run off of the battery in the vent of a loss of commercial power.

I have it connected to a 27" iMac, external monitor and 3 external HDDs, works great.
I have no idea about the specifics for servers, or how far it should be away from equipment to prevent feedback loop, but for home use, the unit is silent and works flawlessly.2
I liked how this worked so much that I put a second one in my upstairs media room and have my TV, stereo, Internet, and cable going to it.
This unit has worked very well since installation and has performed the designed function on several occasions

We have constant thunder storms and it protects our computer and other items we have connected to it.
Have already lost power to the house twice during storms for about 10 to 20 minutes each time and both times my computer, both monitors and the modem/router continued to work just fine

It has generous capacity with five outlets for both backup and surge protection and five for surge protection only
Anyway, the backup was and is very useful because I have frequent blackouts and also the surge protection had to intervene frequently as the voltage is rather instable
I presume those are attributable to a failure to set up correctly and NOT a faulty unit
The difference was a couple of dollars more, but for something that could possibly last 20 years, saving a few dollars was not worth the headache of an unreliable unit or unresponsive customer service
and I highly recommend this unit as a backup device for similar functions
That unit was a replacement for an APC I bought at a retail store which was at the end of its warranty, but the battery died

I purchased this Battery back up in hopes that it would operate electric motors for a short time and its works well for the 5 minutes that i need the power to insure that I will not have a large financial loss

For Linux (Debian derivate), it automatically registers as a battery as well, and the properties dialog will read out "time to empty"
If you have a unit with a bad battery do not start the unit up.

It will run our computer, monitor, and printer, and back up hard drives for an hour if the power is interrupted
I also rest well knowing my hard drives are plugged into a quality surge protector.
