Apple iPod 30 GB 5th Generation (Black) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • The current iPod is still a long way from ideal (I could easily list off a whole raft of improvements I'd like to see), but given the highly portable nature of the device, huge disk capacity and the not too unreasonable battery life its a very good effort at video, music and photos on the move
    • The only reason I gave this product a two star in stead of one is because I received it one day BEFORE they estimated; however the battery doesn't work
    • my battery was completely drained
    • I have a 30GB model (free from my employer), and my only regret is not getting the 60GB model, which in addition to being twice as big packs better battery performance.
    • The glossy plastic and screen are easily scratched, and this, the screen is distorted and the iPod loses its nice lookIn all, the iPod is a decent MP3 player, but has many problems like the low-quality included accessories and terrible battery life.
    • The battery died after about a week, but that's not the seller's fault because the battery replacement would be Apple's job.
    • A few complaints include the battery life as well as the surface which does scratch pretty easily (this is why I gave it 4 stars)
    • poor, may i repeat, poor battery life
    • If you don't charge it like you should, your battery is gonna suck
    • first, the battery died out fast in my opinion
    • Awful nice of you to sell me this crappy I-pod with a totally dead & unchargeable battery.
    • Song capacity is based on four minutes per song and 128-Kbps AAC encoding.***Photo capacity is based on iPod-viewable photos transferred from iTunes.****Video capacity is based on 4 minutes per H.264 750-Kbps video combined with 128-Kbps audio.*****Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced
    • Video playback is much beter than I expected, but it does drain the battery more than playing music files (naturally)One suggestion--get a carry case so you'll avoid any scratchs and dents for the iPod
    • my only complaint about the iPod is that the battery gets drained after watching a show.
    • Before replacing this with a Sony Walkman mp3 player, this puppy was having all kinds of problems, like endless rebooting loops, battery reading low after charging for hours, battery dykng after 3 hours of use, battery draining by large quantities when skipping or fast forwarding, static electricity,
    • The battery will crap out on you in about 2-3 hours at most
    • The battery is an other problem that the iPod faces
    • I suggest buying it if you're not afraid of a little weak battery life during video playback
    • Either I got lucky with the battery in my iPod photo, or I have a bad battery in this iPod video.
    • They have added a lot of features in i-pod but did not Improve the battery.
    • (i have both an A/C and car adaptor) where I couldn't leave it plugged in, in fact I don't think I've ever killed the battery on my iPod.
    • Portable batteries are VERY sensitive to charge cycles
    • I have a old 20GB I-pod and the battery sure is real good
    • Last problem: short battery
    • Sometimes the IPod will say that the battery is depleted, then it will turn on showing a full battery
    • , i know the battery can sometimes be a little problem, but that's not a "BIG" issue either, so i'm very pleased with this purchase, and like i said before, if you really want to get a cool ipod this is the one, it doesn't matter if it's black or white or yellow, get one and enjoy your music!!
    • The battery just gets zapped.
    • Battery life and the number of charge cycles vary by use and settings
    • The quality is reasonably good and the battery life sufficient to watch a movie.
    • But I could have even lived with that until I discovered that the battery was also bad and would not hold a charge for the length of an entire song
    • The iPod battery died in two (2) months from purchase.
    • Portable batteries are VERY sensitive to charge cycles.
    • Most reviews complained about scratching and poor battery life
    • The only gripe I have is - that it has horrible battery life
    • The battery is being die and I just can use it for 3 hours.
    • I charged it for 3 hours, unplugged it and as soon as I turned it on it said battery was dead and shut off.
    • Before replacing this with a Sony Walkman mp3 player, this puppy was having all kinds of problems, like endless rebooting loops, battery reading low after charging for hours, battery dykng after 3 hours of use, battery draining by large quantities when skipping or fast forwarding, static electricity,
    • it mostly stayed locked up until i let the battery go dead
    • Maybe I received an iPod with a faulty battery, i'm not sure, but I do NOT recommend going through the trouble of buying this product unless you are planning on using it to walk straight to the iPod repair store for a 100 dollar battery upgrade
    • Battery is great, but I have only had it 3 days.
    • The only downside is that watching the vidoes drains the battery quickly so i would suggest getting a battery adapter to give it extra power
    • The primary function of my video iPod is a music player, so I knew it wasn't sucking up battery due to video playback.
    • Battery, enough has been said about that already.
    • Video drains the battery.
    • The battery dies down fairly soon when FM transmitters are attached
    • Bought a new battery and it still died
    • Longer battery life for video - they promise two hours, and that's about what you get.2
    • My only problem is that I don't get enough battery time when I'm running videos!
    • They are harder to break and ive had mine for 4 years and the battery is perfect, it also lasts 17 hours
    • Pro:-Great battery life-Many listening options: shuffle, by artist, etc.-Reasonable size
    • Radio, recording, and replaceable battery make it a better player
    • Works great and has a good battery life.
    • Weak battery life
    • and it drains the battery so
    • Decent battery life
    • (The Office)a 22 minute show drains the battery like nothing you've seen.
    • If you don't charge it like you should, your battery is gonna suck.
    • I wouldn't recommend buying an iPod for watching videos all that often, as the battery life is quite limited when watching videos (2hrs at most), but short 5-10 minute clips won't kill the battery, and they're fun to watch.
    • I haven't completely drained my battery yet, so I'm not sure of the actual hours of battery life
    • but I also put a ipod classic battery in,
    • Playing videos kills the battery.
    • Good battery
    • Loses battery life like that3
    • The battery is a infamous issue by now
    • ipod Battery problem
    • The iPod battery is also not easily replaceable, so you can't just switch batteries when it runs out, instead, you have to recharge the iPod
    • Everything else is fine but the battery
    • To make it sustain along healthy battery life one must avoid the constant extras and simply listen to the song
    • The video feature is outstanding - even when it drains the battery
    • Battery is bad
    • Better battery life
    • This iPod may also not have the best battery life, but at least I can watch videos such as Spongebob, Lost, etc
    • (The Office)a 22 minute show drains the battery like nothing you've seen.
    • but you dont want to buy this one because a) ill never fill the damn thing!b
    • This ipod plays video, as well as having an excessive storage for songs and pictures
    • Maybe if I were watching a movie on the bus home it might die as I've read that watching video is very hard on the battery, but who the heck wants to sit and stare at this screen for more than 20 mins?
    • However, the iPod video...well, it didn't sound nearly as good as the photo, even after jacking with the EQ's and upgrading my firmware to the latest version (the latest when I received it, anyway).
    • My old, soft cotton t-shirt streaked the front right after I opened it and took it out of the box

    • My 12-y-o son has never been happier
