The benefit I found in purchasing the 2014 model is that, for my average usage, I get more for paying less

These newer models with the SSD are pretty cool

Wish I'd gotten the larger model by personal preference but very happy with its performance so far.

That Apple has gone completely in the other direction on this (even including this model) is annoying for someone who always upgraded the RAM and drives before retiring an Apple product

For 2014 model, $1899.99 got me a faster processor (2.5 GHz) and a larger SSD storage (512 GB)Overall, I can definitely recommend this 2014 model (MGXC2LL/A)
