neither cable worked, they don't charge the laptop
-
My laptop loses its charge while it's plugged in using this charging cable.
-
with every USB-C device I've tried, including the Dell XPS 13 and Google Nexus 6P•Good balance between length and portability: it's slight longer than most people are tall, but coils into a reasonably small loop•Future proof USB-C connectors that are easily reversedCONS=====•Stiff, presumably due to the thick conductors that are needed for carrying 87 watts of power•Only comes in white, which looks odd on a space/dark gray laptop•More expensive than "normal" USB (USB-C still has tiny marketshare as of 2017)

As as far functionality, it charged the laptop and secured in the port with no issue; just not sure about the wax powder on the cable; other reviews have noted the same and a smell
-
