I absolutely love this Hot Plate, I felt like a genius when I found a way to keep my coffee warm, it's fantastic!!!

We wanted something affordable and simple to keep our coffee warm when we are on the patio

I use it with a 23 oz. coffee cup on a warm setting with no problem at all

Otherwise it would stay on the "warm" setting indefinitely

Works well, the lowest setting is great for keeping a mug of tea warm

High" setting is actually too hot, so I use "Medium" instead

Heats up pretty fast and the warm setting is perfect for heating up VG so that it can be sucked up through the needles easier

Very uneven heat on the heating surface and really hard to maintain a temperature

I used gorilla glue to repair it for a while - good for another month until heat caused it to fail again.

I would not recommend this unit for the average user; it's a piece of junk.

As it stands, I now turn the unit to "Warm" for a minute, turn it off for fifteen minutes, and it's still too hot to use for evaporating slides without harming delicate tissues.

I had a cheaper unit (also only lasted about year like this one) but it heated up much faster because it had the old fashioned heating coil the sides of the base were much much cooler to touch

It produces a strange smell, only stays on HOT for 2 minutes at a time before cutting itself off, but can't boil water with anything lower than HOT.I'd give this lower stars if I could

Once it got hot, which didn't take too long, the residue (which did smell awful) burned off in less than ten

I use it mainly to boil eggs and fry simple things

It is probably not the best choice for boiling large pots of water, but fine for smaller pots for hard boiled eggs and soup.

The coating on the burned melted and smoked and chipped off after it cool the first time we turned it on

Just remember to keep it in open space not too close to the wall or anything that will burn the fuse out from what I read.
