I see all lights on and their tech support tells me the modem is disconnected

I just had to call optimum tech support who helped set it up.

I have Suddenlink and their modem was really bad but their tech support was really good.

I called tech support for Arris and was on hold for 75 minutes.

Got sick of leasing modem and this works better than the one time warner gave me

The more disappointing issue I ran across and support could not give me a solid response was that the device manual IP association based on MAC addresses did not work as expected

Not a factor since Spectrum now provides a cable modem free of charge.

Replaces an SB6141 which was not actually defective (cable system had external issues) but I do find I am getting about 10 mbps better downstream speed than before (180mbps vs 170 mbps)

I've had it for less than a month, but I can say that it was easy to install, my ISP could 'see' it and register it w/o any hiccups, and it works just as well as the cable company's modem that it replaced.

Works as advertised and improved speeds over the rental from the broadband company

Unfortunate customer service for a product that does not work as advertised.

It downloads up to 90 Mbps while using a Comcast 75 Mbps with Boost advertised speed.

Regardless the cable company is to blame as they chose it

Had some difficulty installing this thing since there was no instructions with the modem (knocked a star off for that).

Good thing we tested the power supply before assuming it was the modem and throwing it out to buy another

The lights on the front of the modem are really bright, though

I disabled the lights but there is still a bright yellow LED.

I only gave four stars because the LED lights on the front are very bright at night

Arris AC1750 is useless only half my devices see the 5G wifi and the weaker signal sucks even after I messed with the frequencies.

The modem does run a bit hot and the lights on the front, as others have said, are very bright.

This is compatible and would have been perfect unit for me.

If and when they determined unit was defective and would be replaced under warranty, they would send a replacement in 5 to 10 working days.

Installation was easy and the unit appears to work as intended

Good unit, did require that I contact the cable company and give them the units info before it would work

The problem wasn't the unit, it was due to a splitter being used in my whole home wiring control panel.

I decided to buy and upgrade with ARRIS SB6183 recommended by my personal research using the slow internet.

The Internet is working great now with no problems at all.

I have a fast internet service and I upgraded to this Arris from a Motorola 2.0

I use my internet for work and can't afford to have any downtime.

Before if someone was watching Netflix, the internet would slow to a crawl for everyone else

One of the best customer service experiences I've had thus far.

Does run a little warm like my router so moved the modem over by the router where it can share the air from a wall powered USB 5 v, 2 amp fan.

My advice is do NOT purchase the Arris SB6183 - their customer "service" is pathetic and blame the Internet provider (in my case TWC)

Had some difficulty with reading Mac number, letter O vs number 0 called customer service,answered phone in less then 3 rings, service rep was great, modem up and running several minutes later

but that's a matter of taste.-Have it paired to a nighthawk AC 'router' that is 20 feet away via CAT7 cable.-Sort of unrelated, but cable company (TWC, now Spectrum) uses arris cableboxes that are underprovisioned for the workload they perform and have heat issues that impact their performance after hours of use

it doesn't bother me as I have a small book in front of it which blocks the light at night (studio apartment).

It does seem warm to the touch, as others have mentioned, but no heat issues so far.

However, just this month I couldn't figure out what the terrible burning smell was in my house

Both began emitting a strange smell after about two weeks of use

After three months, it is emitting a strong body odor smell.

I used to have 2 in 1, but it caused a lot of cut offs and slow in speed

Also this purchase was about 20$ less than leasing the modem, so I'll be saving a lot over time if it works past 1 year.

After scouring the web for some ideas, I found that this SB6183 has disappointed a lot of people

I actually do a lot of gaming, and not only do they no longer lag, but somehow they even look and play differently

My internet speed feels like it has trippled in speed and after three months no issues

Pros:-Beats paying the cable co $10/month for theirs.-Works, will get you full speeds with most top tier internet plans from most cable companies.-Indicator lights function, during outages it is pretty responsive.-Has a status page you can access locally (always nice for those who know their way around cable systems and admins).Cons:-Expensive for what it is

Worked the first 3 months but on the 4th month it immediately started losing connection every day

Payback is only about 8 months, so even on a two year replacement cycle, it pays for itself quite handily

4-5 months after purchase it started giving off a real strong body odor-like smell
