The headset that was shipped to me does have the flexible mic boom

Mic seemed to pickup too much of the wind from the vents but overall satisfied until I can upgrade to the A20 when I get my CFI rating.

Mic noise attenuation is good - loud and clear transmissions on radio and intercom.

This mic is better than Lightspeed mic

Great sound and volume control, mic works well, and very comfortable.

The independent volume adjustment knobs on the earphones are great, the flexible mic is great and the lifetime warranty is great.

Sound is clear, fit is a little tight but comfortable and flex mic is easy to adjust.

The headset I received is in fact the "HS-1a" which is what is pictured (it has the flexible mic boom)
