The design of the bottle neck is not like that of a typical water cooler, but something more complex that requires more manipulation while water is splashing around everywhere.

I agree with the other reviewers who mention the gap in the base that is too small to clean properly, poor design

This design sucks the food or solid material right up into the clean water area.

The new design sucks up pebbles of food and debris out of the main drinking dish up into the tank, contaminating the entire tank of water.

Well designed and sturdy, these self-waterers are a godsend, making it much easier to keep your animals well-hydrated, without having to constantly refill their bowl.

There has been several brands around for quite some time and the ASPEN people seem to have tried to cash in by creating a really badly designed version of what is soooooo simple in other brands
