Finally, while I was away for the long weekend after the 4th of July the OS updated itself (it seems nearly impossible to stop that from happening with Win 10) and the computer became totally unstable.

USB-C is gen 1 and does not support this

Per Asus support, this laptop does NOT support video from the USB-C even though it clearly states in the listing that is does

I use a USB mouse (Logitech G600) and haven't had any glitches.-General I/O, system drivers, and other odds and ends are nicely hands off
