Reviews around spec (5.00 of 5)

  • The technical specs are great but SSD speed could be better, both UX390 and most Dell XPS versions have better speed which is the only area this laptop fails to meet my expectations
  • The specs, design and build quality are exceptional
  • super lightweight, solid, great spec

Reviews around corner (5.00 of 5)

  • But my concerns about Asus' quality control remain: the computer has a noticeable coil whine emanating from the top left corner of the base (near where the escape key is), and the notebook has a serious chassis flex problem
  • Having the power button on the top right corner doesn't help either
  • The coil whine, like others mentioned, is originated from the top left corner of the keyboard and it persisted throughout my whole 20 min usage of the laptop

  • I've added an update to the review at the end*First of all this laptop has great value for price which is tough to match for any other brand on the market

  • It's NOT the fan; top left of the computer

Reviews around feel (5.00 of 5)

  • It is easy and quick to type on with good key feel and travel
  • The weight is awesome as it's very light yet the aluminum material gives a very classy feel but not as much as the UX390 does with the gold colored details
  • The feel and weight of the laptop feels sleek and clean

Reviews around gen (5.00 of 5)

  • This is a super fast 8th gen i7 15" laptop in a 14" form factor.
  • but then its less than half the price, 16GB ram & 8th gen i7 windows 10, fast portable and light

  • The screen is good and nice size.
  • Plus its size and weight make it very portable.

Reviews around processor (3.12 of 5)

  • There are so many pros - huge amount of storage on SSD, blazing fast processor, solid build, loud/clear speakers
  • The processor also makes a very loud and unsettling electrical sizzling noise
  • Also the whole thing feels very pointless, "fast" processor costs a lot of money but its not fast enough to do more than browsing, and looking at media so you might as well get something 500$ cheaper
  • It gets even louder the more you stress the processor, and it's a very high pitched whine

Reviews around keyboard (2.79 of 5)

  • Runs loud and hot at idle, build quality is so bad my 130% dell officemax laptop is sturdier than this, sharp scratchy edges, doesn't even sit flat on a flat surface like a wobbly uneven table, EVERYTHING flexes and bends where you don't want it to, heavy for how flimsy and hollow it feels, keyboard is a gross mushy mess like typing on a plastic bag over a wet blanket, cant put ANY other OS on it, windows 10 makes me wanna vomit my childhood dreams into the nearest trash bin, power button is where the delete button is.....wtf for real its like they took the worst keyboard from the cheapest chromebook they could find and duct taped it in there, computer is UGLY not because of the design choice but because of awkward warped areas in the cheap plastic body, when closed the top back of the screen flexes in ALOT and the circular shine effect looks cheap and uneven, not even very slim for how slow this pc is

  • Plus it's more than just an AZERTY now ;).And let me tell you that when it's LIT, the keyboard is fantastic
  • The keyboard is extremely mushy and subpar
  • Final thought, I would like to end on a positive note, because as I'm writing this comment, I am in my room, with no noise at all from the coil (even plugged with the battery), and the KEYBOARD is a pleasure to use, super responsive and love to hit the keys

Reviews around coil whine (1.12 of 5)

  • The coil whine, like others mentioned, is originated from the top left corner of the keyboard and it persisted throughout my whole 20 min usage of the laptop
  • There is no coil whine on this unit, it is the SSD that screeches.
  • In sum, the only reason that I returned it is the coil whine issue
  • The only problem I have with it is the EXTREMELY loud coil whine
  • Its just so unfortunate that the coil whine is too loud to be unnoticed

Reviews around noise (1.00 of 5)

  • The Laptop works great, but has coil whine, and is my second laptop, the first one came with a terrible fan noise, Asus, you shoul care more about your quality controls
  • However, the first date I got it the noise of the fan was very terrible, I returned it immediately
  • it makes an annoying noise, it is not the fan but an electric sound
  • Besides the SSD speed the only issue I've witnessed is the scratchy noise like most people mentioned
  • The processor also makes a very loud and unsettling electrical sizzling noise
