Mediocre message recording quality.4

The messages are clear and easy to understand.

Used this for awhile before changing phones bases again, but works as intended, loud message screening if you like that, simple buttons to play, skip, delete.

I think it is a good message machine.

As other reviewers mentioned the lack of an actual date the message was received as opposed to just day of the week would be helpful in some situations

I am usually not available when this machine answers the phone, so I don't hear how loud the messages are when being recorded hence the need for the machine in the first place

As others have pointed out, there is no audible message reminder -- so if you've received messages and you are not visually checking the unit for the blinking light indicator (which shows the number of messages), you may miss it

I bought this with the expectation that the messages would be clearer than old analog machine with incoming messages recorded on magnetic tape

It's small & takes up little room it's beeps loud enough so u will know u have messages & calls out the number that is coming in

Worked great the first month or two, but now recorded incoming messages have so much static it's almost impossible to tell who's calling much less understand the message.

Two minor issues I noticed right away were (1) the voice playback on the 1740 is not as clear as on the 1739, and (2) the LED counter on the 1740 is not as large or bright as the 1739.

Works exactly as I assumed it would.

Now no more worries as to who is calling

Everything else worked just fine, but the recorded messages are so fuzzy with static as to be impossible to understand, whether listening on the external speaker or when calling in from a different line.
