• Reviews around quality (3.50 of 5)

AT&T (1740WH) Digital AnsweSystem with Time and Day Stamp, White

    • Pretty good quality for such a low priced unit.
    • Great quality, easy to setup and easy to use
    • Good quality and easy to use.
    • poor voice quality, difficult to understand
    • The audio quality of recorded calls is terrific
    • Additionally, the quality of the sound is not good.
    • It is completely digital, and still the sound quality is worst than the Old tape recorders.
    • It has more functions that I can use, does its honest job but the audio quality is quite poor
    • Crystal clear voice quality and also can be set loud enough to hear from other rooms
    • Horrible sound quality
    • Recorded sound quality (>10 different callers tested) is much poorer (with or without DSL filter), which is puzzling in this era of declining cost of semiconductor production; maybe it's due to cheaper transducers
    • Horrible sound quality, I don't use it
    • Works ok.......however sound quality is not very good.
    • Very poor quality.
    • Sound quality is not very good.
    • Quality of sound is very good
    • The sound quality had become bad enough that it was difficult to understand the messages left
    • Audio quality is fine, recorded outgoing message is fine
    • Also the quality of the outgoing message isn't great, and for someone who uses this for business, I'd rather it sound much clearer.
    • Excellent sound quality, easy to use.
    • I found the audio quality to be just fine unless there's a problem on the other end of the line, which would also be a problem if you answered the call.
    • It has extremely poor voice quality and the recording interrupts normal calls
    • Sound quality is terrible - fuzzy, nasal and noisy.
    • Replaced a 15-year old answering machine with this, hoping for better quality playback
    • Digital message system is of excellent quality
    • Excellent price, quality & sound, easy to use, instructions to install are clear ..will recommend to others
    • Purchased this item for a small business, it's reliable but the sound quality and the fact that every time the user hits a button the machine speaks can be irritating
    • Low cost, high quality sound, and easy to set-up and operate.
    • It's easy to set up and the quality of sound is good.
    • Sound quality is good for the size.
    • good quality.
    • Second the sound quality is only fair
    • All the buttons, with writing in two languages, make the interface too busy looking, but the audio quality is very good.
    • * Excellent sound quality, ample volume
    • The audio quality is poor, albeit somewhat dependent on the source quality.
    • Simple to use with pretty good sound quality.
    • ONly drawback is the quality for recording your outgoing msg is low.
    • Great quality
    • I love the quality
    • good quality.
    • Great new quality for a little bit of money
    • As the quality of so many products continues to decline, working used products become all the more valuable.
    • Sound quality for my desk phone is better than digital phones
    • Easy setup, adequate audio quality and efficient operation make this device well suited as a low cost land line answer system
    • A really good quality, simple to use answering machine for the money.
    • Works fine and the sound quality is good.
    • Good sound quality.
    • Reasonable sound quality, and plenty of recording time.
    • don't want the expense of extras on my phone bill and this does much more than what I was expecting and the quality is great
    • The sound quality could be a bit better.
    • The machine itself works well enough: it puts out a pretty intelligible greeting (see below for how to improve it significantly) and records a slightly less intelligible, but entirely adequate quality, message from your caller
    • The sound quality of the messages is very poor.
    • By flipping the phone over and speaking directly into this opening from a close distance (say, 6 inches or so), the sound quality of your greeting message will be improved significantly--almost to the same quality as that provided by VM service from your phone company
    • Sound quality isn't that great
    • Very poor sound quality, crackly and blurry
    • The sound quality is pretty good as well
    • The sound quality is pretty good as well
    • Poor quality recording.
    • On the positive side, the machine offers excellent sound quality, ample volume, and simple controls with voice prompts as needed.
    • Good audio quality, easy to use.
    • But I am guessing that if they made a better quality machine that cost double what this one did I would probably buy it
    • It is really a reasonable price and you receive outstanding quality.
    • The quality of the speaker and recordings is terrible, rendering this answering machine unusable
    • It literally does everything advertised (at least so far), but the quality of sound is so abysmal, it is embarrassing
    • This was easy to set up, the message playback is of good quality and at this price, very good value
    • But its one of the last of its kind on the market, so I guess they don't have to put out a real good quality machine to get people to by it, Most, probably like me who are over , well lets just say not so young any more and continue to hang on to that land line
    • The quality of the incoming msgs is really good and the button placement, size, etc is very good.
    • Good quality material and what I needed
    • Easy to setup, clear voice quality, easy for end user to handle
    • This one has better audio quality
    • Sound quality is quite good.
    • Simple, small, and good sound quality
    • I was not happy with this unit because I thought the sound quality was poor
    • It's nice and compact/flat as
    • Two minor issues I noticed right away were (1) the voice playback on the 1740 is not as clear as on the 1739, and (2) the LED counter on the 1740 is not as large or bright as the 1739.
    • Works exactly as I assumed it would.
    • Now no more worries as to who is calling
    • Everything else worked just fine, but the recorded messages are so fuzzy with static as to be impossible to understand, whether listening on the external speaker or when calling in from a different line.
    • good as always
    • Works as it should.
    • Helpful and smal \l.
    • Even AT & T support could not get it to record messages
    • AT&T worked great in CA.
