My only complaint is that if someone is leaving a message and you want to answer, it makes a very odd screeching sound and you need to turn off the system to make the sound stop

Those negatives are its insistence on stating that the time has not been set every time you listen to an incoming message and the terrible sound of the outgoing message (a.k.a. announcement) if you record it using the machine's built-in microphone.

It developed a problem where it showed one message on display but when I hit the button to listen to it the only sound was the very quiet white noise from an open input circuit to an amplifier.

No bells and whistles but works great and the sound of the voices, both incoming messages and recorded announcement is clear.

Great sound and voice recording

Small, so it doesn't take up lots of room, good sound, so I can actually hear the messages without fuzziness, and it holds 60 minutes of message time (which I don't prefer).
