Very nice unit

I received a defective unit.

I'm not sure if I was the one person who got the defective unit but this thing buzzes (sounds like a bee in bottle) when playing the recorded message.

The unit, otherwise, seems to work well and set-up is pretty straight-forward and easy.

It is the perfect unit for my needs,and the Price makes it top value

I bought one for home because the one I bought and tried out at work turned out to be a great unit.

So, I fear the unit I purchased is defective.

The unit seems to work well except when a call is made, the machine's present announcement plays at the same time as my recorded announcement making it confusing to a caller as to what is being said.

I get that it's a cheap unit, but by now they've amortized all product development and are just being cheap

Apparently the silent mode was removed on this answering machine at some point in time as some reviewers reported, however the unit I purchased in January of 2017 can be silent as I demonstrate in attached video.

I called AT&T support who had me recycle the power again and verified that the unit was defective.

The failure gradually progressed to the point the only way we could listen to messages was to dial in on our cell phone; the unit itself would not play back messages or delete them.

This unit works great.

I highly recommend this unit to anyone who needs a simple easy to use answering machine.
