It works with multiple types of blades and chisels with excellent results.

Properly mounted and locked as tight as possible, the results were far worse than hand-held.

This took practice but after a few tries, I was able to restore the dull edge to a factory new edge

For a new tool, I used it for over an hour to perfectly sharpen a Useless Tool

With this bump on the tool, the tool is rendered useless as a hone guide for a plane as the blade wont lay flat on the guide

When the unit showed up it was obvious that the tool had a major manufacturing defect (bump) in it as shown in the pictures I have included

I have used a grinder or a Dremel to do a mediocre job

This did an excellent job on my plane iron but because of the notches meant for paring chisels leave very little 'flat' surface on the inside jaw faces above the guide rods, it does a miserable job of holding a mortising chisel in a consistant orientation

very clear instructions for use, a little bit trickier to set up the angle for the blades, very easy solved by making a stop block with the distances required for the diferent angles set up.

The instructions in the package explicitly discourage this sort of tuning, because the tool doesn't need it and could be damaged by it

I ran into a problem with my 1/4" chisel - it was difficult to get it seated properly and stay there while tightening, and the guide was difficult to keep from wobbling on the stone.

After a few minor adjustments this tool works great sharpening chisels and plane blades.

I think this will work very well for sharpening my plane blades, but the chisels are very hard to get held straight

If you have some cheaper mortise chisels this will work

It really helped me get my blades and chisels sharp but did have a little trouble clamping the smaller chisel.
