We ran several different lines to it and the amp works well -- kicking on 95% of the time from stand-by mode (Apple AirportExpress input).Haven't run into any overheating issues, but I do have it on a wire rack with space around it

Definitely enough power for in-wall speakers unless you're looking to shake the screws out of the sheetrock.

The only issue I have is the speaker wire terminals: silly small screw type terminals are tedious.
